You'd get rid of it if you could try the 125B version with blend. So much better than the original (for bass anyway!)

My two favorite fuzzes for guitar (that might get you there) is the EQD Park Fuzz (germanium Tonebender clone) and Way Huge Swollen Pickle (silicon Muff clone).

The Park fuzz is wooley and awesome.

New Sovtek Deluxe solved the mids issue on EH Muffs. Killer pedal, plus EXP control over mids frequency makes it a Wah too.

Yeah, the Sovtek Deluxe Muff is insanely good. I LOVE it. Abominable Electronics Hail Satan Deluxe is quite good as well.

On a less traditional tip, the Broughton Sunder Fuzz is pretty dope. As is the Malekko Diabolik.

ss/bs TAFM and a superfuzz. I love my Wounded Paw Attack Goat, but you can't go wrong with something like a ss/bs Buzzz.
