Fuzz

Hey all!

I've been playing an esp f255 now for a few years and it has started to produce a horrible fuzz through the amp everytime i pluck a string, i've replaced the battery, cables and had a look at the jack but to no avail. Any ideas?

I suspect that the problem isn't your bass at all, but possibly the amp/speaker:

- was at the shop yesterday, this guy came in and had to return a speaker cuz it was fuzzy at times for no particular reason.
- sealing up the port made the fuzz less prominent
- possibly the speaker is rubbing on itself somewhere.

My Fender Bassman 200W (about 5 years old) did that at one point. I sprayed some Caig contact cleaner (DeOxit & ProGold) into the input jack on my amp, and the problem went away.

Note: Caig is GOOD STUFF. Don't use the oily "TV Tuner Cleaner" like you get from Radio Shack! Radio Shack carried Caig at one point, but last time I went there, they did not. You can always go to Caig.com or check around.
