Yes, the Rat Tail has alot of tonal flexibility, its quite frankly a bit overwhelming lol.
It has taken me a good amount of time to find a setting I really dig, just because of how MUCH each knob interact with each other.
I still have alot of experimenting to do with it.

I have one question though, what's the best way to retain the low end when using the RT as a low distortion? is it by increasing knob 1 while keeping the tone knob around 12:00?
I really like how the distortion sounds with knob 2 maxed or close to 4:00. I notice that when I move the distortion knob it changes the voicing of the distortion, which is really neat! but lower settings on the distortion seem to "suck" a bit of the bass out.
I have seriously considered a blend pedal, but I don't want to limit the small space I already have on the PT mini..
are most of you guys playing on tube amps? I only play on solid state amps at the moment, perhaps this could have something to do with it?

Awesome, thanks for the input Ryan!

I have band practice on Thursday, I'll give it a shot!

I've been chasing after the Young Widows "Old Skin" tone. I get a bit close, though I know more elements come into play like, amp/cab, bass and strings..

I'll keep trying :)

You shut your filthy mouth. I loved my Firebass and so should you.

I do have a Rusty Box, I had to send it in to get repaired though.

I've got nothing on Tiger, but a friend was interested in hearing my RT so I recorded a super quick demo. Just noodled a couple riffs together in one take. Don't hate me for the sloppy playing or 5-month old strings. They are so dead.

Signal path is:
Wal MKI
Pedal Board
700RB-II
Mesa Diesel 4x10
AKG D112 Mic
Audacity

Pedal board is a clean and dirty signal. Dirty channel has RT always on, and on the second riff I activated my Blue Beard in the clean path. They create this thick wall of dirt together. I'm in love.

Edit:

My RT settings are a slightly modified version of this:
Filter - 8:00, dist - b/w 9-11:00, 1 - 3:00, 2 - 5:00, toggle middle.

Putting the toggle in the middle is the key for light OD, as it clips the least. I use mine as a light OD 100% of the time.

So this may be a dumb question, but do Fuzzrocious pedals in general, and the Rat Tail line in particular, play well with active pickups? I ask because I'm about to throw EMGs in my Warwick Corvette ProLine and would also like to pick up a Rat Tail or King.
