hey folks - i have a dark driving question, and guess this is the best place to ask!!!

current using a bb bass preamp with the bass up, treble down and gain so low as to almost be off, to get my low gain o/d sounds - anybody own a DD and a BB, or tried both - is this similar territory?

thinking of a phat phuk to DD board - boost and low gain o/d is all i use, and the temptation of two sparkly pedals is becoming hard to resist! anyone use a DD and phat phuk together??

cheers!

Yes sir, the first two pedals in my chain are the PP and DD. I prefer a low gain OD and find the combination of the two to work very well for me. Excellent clarity and articulation with just the right amount of grit. Both the DD and PP have internal trim pots so it took me a little tweaking to get just the right sound...but once I got it, it was suhweet!

Fellow TBer gscroggin did a review of some overdrives on his blog and included some excellent sound samples (including a PP into a DD) which you can check out here:

I like having the gate, but mainly just to prevent the noise you get with cranked sustain and the boost switch engaged; just keeps everything tidy.

I started really playing with it and my Pork Loin and Phat Phuk and think I now have all my dirts dialed in just how I want them :) Now I'll just have to work on the Noise Box I'm hopefully getting from Behndy and try and find a proper use for my Tremorslo...

Suggestions? Does anybody have any clips of the Trem in use?

I mostly used it in b/w songs for noise with my freqbox

i have a phat B and am tempted by the dark driving, but from the demos i've heard from the fuzzrocious website, it sounds much much higher gain / fuzzy than the phat b (which is just a boost)... and that's what i want - surely they're pretty different beasts?

I have both of them yet, strangely, I have yet to try them together...

Nevertheless! The Phat Phuck B and Dark Driving are different. You can adjust the trim pots on the DD for more or less dirt but I would say it's much dirtier then the Phat Phuck B.
