It's painful to look and see the basses that sold.... That Rainbow Trout, i wasn't sure of but, I'd take it... that Caramel one
I need a 4, although the 5's are tempting....
No disrespect to GG but, my budget is pretty low and even at that number I didn't exactly get spousal approval.....LOL
One Day though, yeah, it would be awesome to have the perfect bass custom made to my specs...

I think pnutz has his older GGj5 on reverb right now. A beautiful 1999. I have a 1998 and they are just as amazing. Not the full graphite neck. If I had to compare it would be like the Modulus Genesis to the Quantum. Fantastic basses though

One question and this may be the wrong forum but, I see a few Passive versions....
I have a Tobias with an active Bartolini pickup - It has 2 pickups in 1.... I really do like it. And I feel bad looking at other basses...LOL.. My feeling is anything I look at with that same Bart pickup isn't a drastic enough change for me...I also have a Fender J so, same thinking I don't think i want anything with J pickups..
I just feel like I want double EMG or Double Barts, yet don't know why
And why would I want Passive? While it's gonna be hard to control myself if a beautiful passive version comes on the market. My thinking is Passive could be good then you can use pedals and EQ to dial in other sounds... OR does the Pickup right at the source give you better EQ options?

A church in a nearby town has been hiring me to play on their special music during Easter and Christmas. I received the music a few days ago and quickly decided my ggi5 will be perfect for this music. I have been playing through the charts with the CD recording of the music and the Gould just sounds, plays and feels fantastic. What a great bass it is.
Thanks. It is called Mary Kaye blue. Fender had a color they called Mary Kaye white which was a see thru white with a pink cast. These finishes are usually over ash bodies. My ggi5 looks even better in person.

Played my ggi6 last night at a Valentine's day dinner/dance at San Antonio Country Club. My favorite Gould bass is the one I have in my hands at the time!
I really enjoy the fact that I can play up the neck on the low strings and the clarity is still there. It makes it so easy to play without thinking that I have to be careful of what position I play in for great tone and clarity.

Played the Easter contata Sunday. The GGi5 sounded fantastic. I am so blessed to own my Gould basses.
Outside on May 18th. 1/4 mile off Lake Michigan.. Air temp.... 46 Degrees. 7:20pm! She played like a dream.. I call her Lady Jane.
Played my ggi6 last night. I used my Aguilar AG 700 into a pair of Aguilar GS 112 cabinets and it sounded so good. I love this bass.
I’m fortunate enough to have two GGi5 basses (that I’ve posted before in this thread):
The one on the left was the 2018 NAMM demo bass, got a nice deal on it from The Bass Place (as I did with the white one a year earlier). These are by far my favorite basses, especially the left one. Here’s a single-camera video of a few tune excerpts from a live gig back in April playing that bass. It’s a board mix, with me doing the sound as well, so it’s not perfect, but I thought the bass sounded pretty good. You’re hearing the bass through a Noble into the mixer. My Amp is the Noble into the line in on a Quilter BB800 to a Revsound RS410VT.
