G. Gould Club!

Greetings! I should probably wait for fedex to deliver my GGi5 to officially join the club, but it’s in transit and should arrive next week!!!

Working on the music for an upcoming project. I usually play 6's but this project seems to fit the 5 string better and I was playing one of my "other" 5's and the music sounded very nice. Then I thought of my ggi5 and now the music sounds fantastic. There is no bass that I have played that has everything my ggi5 has. Sweet tone, clarity all over the neck and it is just easy to play.

My bass came from The Bass Place and they had it in stock for longer than they wanted and put it up for sale at a discounted price. I bought it and have never looked back. It is not the most fancy one I have seen but this is still one of Geoff's masterpieces. I am so blessed to have my ggi5 and ggi6.

Preaching to the choir again!

Love that color.

Well it’s hard to believe I’ve only had my GGi5 for three weeks - in my hands it feels like I’ve had it for years.
I had the opportunity to play it in church and received many compliments (I assume they were talking about the tone - my playing was just ok). Thanks Geoff for the tips on worship-tone! It was my first time playing in a non-bar/club/theater setting. A very different kind of pressure. But I just have to say that I’ve had warwicks (early 90’s German ones), a Tobias and a pedulla mvp that was my main bass for 15+ years. Geoff’s work leaves them all in the dust. So very happy i got mine.

Yikes! At a end of summer gig on a deck. Only about 78 degrees but this direct sun is killing my bass. Can’t use any notes under the 4th fret. Gonna have to have a full set up before it can be played again.

I've used my Gould basses in much more extreme temperatures and the set up didn't change. I wonder if something else happened. In any case, I hope you get it sorted out easily.
