This is just outright funny!!!It’s great for tinkering at home and doing setups/repairs for my friends, but every time I open that box, I think - when did I accidentally become a guitar tech?

Yes it does!!just read the news article that CITES is (likely) allowing finished musical instruments to be bought and sold internationally starting in late november. so does this actually mean we can purchase from japan, ussr, etc. with no worries that the fretboard or body contains any kind of 'flagged' wood (besides brazillian rosewood)?
i know that the "basses" forum has the CITES sticky at the top of the page but there seemed to be a few 'snippy' individuals/posts that made me want to turn here where things are a bit civil. plus maybe geoff will offer his view (as a builder) on the CITES policy being relaxed...

DANG if they do that it'll eliminate my reasoning for getting another GGI6!!! LoL!!!!Things are looking up, but I want to discuss this with my peers before doing something official. I might be able to make some cocabola basses for export again. I cancelled a couple of Japanese orders a few years ago.
I guess I can now be called a bonifide member of the G. Gould Club!!! Got hooked on the graphite necks by a 96 Modulus and I must say I'm totally excited by the light weight of this 6string and just like the modulus, every note speaks equally well. No Dead spots or extreme loud/soft areas. I'm extremely happy!!
@Newton Idaho took over the issuing numbers for new gould members.Someone giving out #s here???!!
