G&L Club Part 6

I had the actives removed from both of my 2500's. One fretted one frettless. I now have full coil tapping control on all pickups. This works very well for me as I never use the actives anyway. If you want the diagram pm me and I'll email it to you. I also run LaBella nylon flat wound strings on all 3 of my G&L basses.

I've never seen a $250 Tribute on CL, or anywhere else.

Where do I find one?

You can't just wait for them, you have you actively and regularly search for them.

One way among many:

site:craigslist.org "G&L" $300

you can add the word bass to that.

Or, replace $300 with $250

And you can even limit your results to the last month or week. Once you do that daily you can change it to daily. All depends on how much you want bang for your buck. You'll have mixed luck with people shipping, so the downside is you usually have to pay for it with few assurances unless it's close to you. When it's a $75 SX your risk is a little lower. You can also do the third party craigslist search tools that will only search within a certain mileage range.

Searching used.guitarcenter.com - same thing (just have it shipped to your local one so you can refuse to buy it but not have to pay anything if there was something wrong with it).

$280 JB-2 tribute in Fresno...

I can't wait to see it in person. Greg from Rocket Music says that it looks much better in person than the pictures. He said it has a rich emerald green that his camera couldn't capture and that the pictures are dull compared to the real thing!

real interesting strap button placement in the lower cutout.

that bass is smoking, too!

Thanks! The strap button location was part of my experimentation trying to solve the inherent neck dive many find w/ the ASAT bass. Although this strap button placement solves 75% of the problem the bass has a tendency to fall forward, so holding the bass in position is still required.

The ASAT strap extension is still the best overall solution to the ASAT's ergonomics, for me. This is the only ASE I have left [besides the prototype]. I no longer have the sources for aluminum or the shop to fabricate.
