Hey everyone. The foam under the neck pickup on my JB seems to have pooped out. When I push down on the pickup, the foam doesn't push it back up again. Obviously I need to replace the foam. If any of you JB owners have done this, what kind of foam did you use, and where did you get it? Thanks for the help!

I am sure others just grab something the right size at the hardware store. I typically just order some from BBG if I am running low and doing a BBG order (I tend to do BBG orders when I am working on electronics).

This is a long shot but does anyone here have a G&L in Turquoise Sparkle and a Fender Adam Clayton in Purple Sparkle? I'm having a hard time telling how similar or different they are based on online photos.

Hey all, figured I'd say hi. I think I officially joined the club almost a decade ago, with an L-2000 that is sadly now long gone. I'm checking in to mention I recently picked up an excellent used L-2500 Tribute that's been bringing back all the good memories!
In an amazing turn of events, I've also been surprised with the gift of a BTO L-2500 series 750 which is hopefully arriving around July/August!

I have a '19 SB-2T, which had the original strings on it (XL-170's?), prior to this afternoon... they were definitely due to come off.
Put a set of DR Sunbeams on it, along with a setup, and she should be settled in before our next gig, on the 30th.
Sounds good, so far... if I had to describe them (using the same settings, both bass and amp) I'd say good bottom end with enough clarity to make a difference.

No feedbacK on the plastic knob controversy? Should I just order chrome ones from Memo and keep loving my SB-1?
BTW, took it to a worship gig and the sound guys LOVED it. Didn't even put me through the mains as the sound was so big. Seriously. And this was coming out of a little Ampeg 10" combo. Not sure I need my other basses anymore. But they are pretty hanging on the wall, jealous of my new pal.
You can probably find some metal ones for much less in many different styles on Amazon. I do a lot of mods and need new knobs for those. Amazon is my go-to place for knobs, though I have occasionally bought from G&L.

No doubt the SB-1 has a big tone, mine is way fuller sounding then my Fender Precision. The MFD's are cool pickups.
I've never had the knobs off of my SB-1 to see if they're chrome or plastic! I guess I don't care so I'll just use them and not worry, I usually run %100 on tone and volume anyways so don't hardly use them.

You're right, I don't really care that much either but was more curious. And yes, full open and she's a beast. Pull back a little on volume and tone and things get very smooth. A lot more versatility than I imagined from a single pickup bass. Loving it!
I thought they used chromed aluminum knobs?
What is more confounding is the pot shaft mixture scheme. My 2019 BTO L2000 had a mix of solid and split shaft pots for some reason, but I guess thats normal from the factory. The knobs were designed for solid shaft so the one on the split had a brass sleeve that gets crushed under the screw and the knob is just crooked. It's bizarre.
