G&L Premium? Made in Japan?
I'm behind on that knowledge.
My 2017 built 1505 has the 3+2 headstock. My 2017 built Kilton5 has the 4+1 headstock. Both were dealer ordered builds, so I have no knowledge of how that happens.
I prefer the 4+1. The 3+2 looks bulky and fat to me.

Aesthetically it's not perfect. However, keeping that last tuner close to the nut on the bass substantially reduces the moment tending to rotate the neck downward—especially on a 5-string with an already heavier neck. This is true with the US light tuners—and especially true on the Tribs with the heavier tuners. It's a sound engineering choice.

Hi everyone, I just picked up a 2013 Tom Hamilton ASAT but am having an issue. When I am in series there is an awful lot of feedback that appears to be coming from the bridge pup. There is no feedback when the neck pup is isolated, or when it is in parallel. I do not see any loose connections in the cavity and am hoping someone has an idea for me! Thanks in advance

For what it's worth, I'm really digging the 3+2. It's just nice to see different stuff. So can it be ordered that way, or what's the determining factor?
