G&L L1500 updated

Love my L1500, the action and feel (like most G&Ls) are second to none. I never dug the preamp so I recently ordered a new L2000 stock pre, had it installed, and WOW what a difference! The two circuit boards look similar, but the new one says v1.1 in fine print. The stock on/off pre was too bright and harsh when on, and not enough highs when off. The new pre has the off/on/on with treble boost switch. The bass sounds tighter in the lows, the treble boost is much more musical, and the circuit has much less noise. Mine is a late nineties model so I'm not sure if the new ones have the same preamp issues mine did. Great mod, I recommend it to all L1500 owners out there.

I just bought a resistor to reduce the treble boost in active mode on my L-1500, but I've thought about taking your approach and just installing an L-2000 pre. It's a great idea. Where did you order it from?
