G&L L2000 & L2500 question

I like em both (all three) depending on the task at hand. There are so many tonal possibilities with those three little switches. I recommend trying passive with all six different combos of pups and series/parallel. You might find some tone surprises you really like.

For what it's worth, active only sounds "beefier" because of the increased gain going into your amp. If you compensate for that (usually via the input pad switch on your amp), you might find you really like the passive sound.

Curious why this choice? Does the active circuit overdrive the wireless or cause interference? I got an L 2000 just prior to Covid, and haven’t gigged it yet, but I do like going wireless when I have room to roam.
I use one of those little Xvive wireless sets. They suck on active basses in general, not just the G&L. I'm sure a better wireless would be fine.

I have 11 L2500s running through Mesa WD800s and Phil Jones c8's. All are strung with de addario Chrome flat wounds and with the treble all the way down. The Mesa is run with a good amount of gain. The L2500 are always in active mode, switched to series mode and switched to both pickups. With this, I get a huge amount of natural sounding growl without it sounding tacky and no need of a compressor so I have control over dynamics. The b string kills. This setup seems to cut through any mix.
