OK, but i think the woods and the neck feeling make the differences. for example, if you have an American Standard Jazz bass and a Jazz made in mexico, and you put the USA Fender pickups to the mexico's Jazz, the last will not sound like an original made in USA...similar ok, but NOT same. beacuse the woods, the hardware and the neck are better.
+1 to the above. The sound of the instrument is the compilation of all the features. If this wasn't true, no one would pay the premium for the USA basses, and their would only be Korean models.
