Here's a very cool arrival from G&L! Whiskey is no longer an official color, so it took me a few attempts to get this one ordered. I had fallen in love with this look when I saw something similar online, so I just kept hounding my G&L guy. Persistence pays off!

That is hot!

Shame they're taking that color away. It's one of their better ones. I always hoped they'd do a whiskey/maple CLF L-1000.

Whiskey is definitely the bomb, and I have not seen that midnight metallic blue before. WOW, that is nice! It's a great shame they stopped doing Yellow Fever in my opinion.

Never heard of / seen Whiskey before - what a really great finish. Can't believe they've discontinued it.

Yellow Fever is another one in the "officially discontinued" bucket, but I've ordered two basses in that color so far this year.

I think that first came about with their Jerry Cantrell signature model. Then they made it generally available for a while. Then they "discontinued" it this year.

Here's a gorgeous new CLF L-1000 that just arrived! Midnight Blue Metallic on Alder, Indian Rosewood board, Vintage Tint Gloss neck finish, 9.1 lbs.

These are supposed to come with a Caribbean Rosewood board, but I'm not complaining. I'm guessing they were running low on CR, so they did a free upgrade to the Indian RW. Yahoo!

As you may have heard in some of posts elsewhere here on TB, G&L announced a price drop today. Everything dropped $350-$400.

I have 3 basses in stock that were ordered at the higher March 2023 price, and G&L has kindly offered to adjust my cost on those to reflect the new lower prices. I'm passing those savings along directly by now advertising those basses at the current/lower prices.

I feel so much better looking at the G&L collection on my website now. Everything is now under $2500, when as of March everything new was going to be $2500 and up.

I noticed on the current Spec sheets that come with the bass the setup and PLEK section is gone. Does G&L still PLEK their basses?

I think they stopped Plek'ing quite a while back. I'm not clear on the exact date, but I know I've seen it mentioned somewhere here on TB...

This one has the #8 neck (1.5" Nut Width) and white pearl block inlays, neither of which are currently options on Build To Order instruments (as of the 2023 price list). So to order one like this today, you'd have to go the Custom Shop route and add about $1000 to the price.

So this one is a steal! It also weighs just 8.6 lbs.

Here's a gorgeous redburst L2K that just arrived today. This was a special order that took some doing to get right. I think we're finally there, hopefully the third time is the charm with the neck on this one.

If this were ordered today, the quilted maple top and the reverse headstock would make it a Custom Shop order. This one got started back in March of 2022, though, so it's a BTO.

It took a little doing to get the neck specs right. Thankfully, my customer for this one was exceedingly patient and understanding. First, G&L missed the reverse headstock which was a mid-stream spec change. Then they got the reverse headstock right on the second neck, but the default L2K nut width had since changed from 1.5" to 1 5/8" so the nut width was wrong on the second neck. Finally, this third neck has both the reverse headstock and the 1.5" nut width. All is well, at long last!

It's a beautiful bass, and hopefully the story can be told with a smile down the road.

looks great! I still don't understand why G&L ships their basses with such dry fretboards, but a little lemon oil or fretboard conditioner will get that fixed right quick! Gorgeous bass.

I'll be installing a set of flats on the bass before I ship it, so I might just take care of that myself. Good idea!

ive had to do it to all my G&L's. It really makes them pop visually
