G&L Latest Arrivals

And here's another gorgeous new G&L JB. More blocks! I was obviously on a blocks kick earlier this year when I orders so many of these new basses. Such a cool look!

Looking at the serial number, I see that this one was actually built back in 2020. I recently ordered it off an "Available List", so I'm not sure what's up with that. Regardless, it's brand new and the warranty starts the day you buy it. So no worries.

Yep, he definitely knew what he wanted out of these, and they did turn out great. Shame the guy either died or got sick or hit some dire financial straits. Oh, well.

I just noticed that I originally posted the Himalayan Blue SB-2T at the higher 2022 price ($2470). I'm sure that was done in a fit of anger. Now I just want to sell it, so I've marked it back down to the 2021 price ($2089).

His loss is my gain!

Was happily gawping at a nice CS LB-100 on the G&L fb page — and then realised its headed your way....

Very nice!

Yessir, that one is a special order for a customer here on TB. Thanks, Stu!

I thought it was supposed to arrive by today. But when it didn't arrive today, I went to check the tracking info and discovered that G&L has switched from FedEx to UPS. So what used to be a 3-biz-day trip across the country will now be a 5-biz-day trip. That's a mild bummer, but I do prefer UPS so I'm not really displeased. That's mainly just because my local UPS driver is amazing, he's so easy to contact and happily works around me popping in and out of the store at random times to ship stuff.

Anyway, I'm now hoping that this one gets here by Friday.

I'm having fun with the UPS tracking app.
The blue SB-2 is supposed to be here on Monday week, bit it has already travelled further than the distance from Virginia to Alice Springs.

West Virginia
Kentucky
UAE
China
Vietnam
Malaysia

Still, it is getting closer

I see it is now in Australia! Hopefully it gets in your hands soon. Sounds like they're trying to reach you, I'm sure regarding some import duties and such.

Thanks for the heads-up, I hadn't heard from them; so just gave them a call and paid my taxes.
Now it should start moving again. 2700km by road (if it comes direct), so I imagine it'll be another week.

10 days since my last map and the bass has moved a long way, but not really got much closer to me (although at some point it probably passed 40000ft overhead).
UPS had initially said it'd be here today, the app is now saying next week.

Your bass in on quite the adventure. Sorry it's taking so long!

I was feeling surprised at the lack of direct action from US to AUS, until I remembered how tiny Australia's population is relative to the countries your parcel has come through or over, it's like they have a huge gravitational pull. I'm now imagining the journey in terms of heads it's flown over already, and how many there are left to pass over. Almost there :D

Yeah, it's heading to one of the most sparsely populated places in the world.
That said, we do have around 2000 Americans in town. I should have got one if them to order it for me, it could have come direct on the Starlifter that delivers the root beer and peanut butter based confectionary.

Is that due to a US Navy base? I grew up a Navy brat and spent some years in Scotland and Portugal. We never got anywhere near Australia, but I would love to visit there someday. Seems like a wild place full of fun-loving folks (with Paul Hogan as my primary frame of reference LOL I used to love his show and Benny Hill when I lived in Scotland circa 1980).

It arrived a coke of hours ago.
I plugged it in, tuned it
then switched out the round wounds for flats (LaBella Deep Talking)
tuned it again
played around with it again, before deciding to go online and show it off to the world!

It sounds very different to my kiloton or my jazz (which is good, that was the point). Now to play with the pickup options and find the sound I want!

Alice doesn't have a US naval base; we've got a joint defence facility, satellite surveillance base and ground station. There are naval personnel there, but it's a CIA and NSA run facility.
For years it was called a 'Space Research Facility' but they gave up pretending and admitted it was all about spying on (y)our enemies.

I posted a couple new LB-100's to our website yesterday!

I somehow managed to duplicate one of my favorite looks (Vintage White with RW board and Mint pickguard). I've got two of those in stock now, but at least they have different neck profiles! Maybe I WAS thinking when I ordered the second one. LOL Nah.

Wow! The Vintage White/Mint/RW LB-100 with the #8 neck sold yesterday, and the Vintage White/Mint/RW LB-100 with the #12 neck sold just now. That look is NOW even more seriously one of my favorite looks! LOL
