G&L Tribute Basses Allegedly Back Ordered Until 2022

Posts like this are always an interesting "Ted Pill"... in relation to Ted K's general attitude that humanity learns dependence on / expects a certain luxury from technology to the point that it's difficult to unlearn.

Like another poster said... it's a reset, and like more others said, this is just the beginning. Maybe you'll be glad you bought the bass with your currency from earlier in the year as opposed to what your currency could be worth when it arrives. :thumbsup:

Uh. Ok. You made a statement that indicated that they’re only “firing up the factory when they hit a quota”.

Which doesn’t make sense this or last year. Since covid has spiked demand.

It being temporary doesn’t really matter. As right now, and for the past 18 months or so, factories have been working overtime to produce product.

Not really sure why a wall of text response changes that reality. Especially since the remainder of your post is similarly inaccurate.

But you do you I guess.

Rather than a reset, hopefully it is more a matter of the the "just in time" distribution system fighting its way back. In any case, I could see distribution problems well into 2022. I anticipated problems in early 2020 when the pandemic hit, and started stocking-up. I actually thought things would be worse than they are, so I am glad we are doing as well as we are.

A lot of places are swamped. On interesting note is that Warmoth, when you order something, puts up a page telling you that everything will ship in 2 to 4 weeks more than the standard time. That's cool; they're giving you an idea of when you're going to get it, and letting you know why. The even cooler part is that the orders I've placed with them... have all shipped in their standard time frame.

Gosh, I hope I haven't jinxed the order I just placed.....

Which. Yes. They could be. Since there’s like 4 months left in the year and covid is still ruining supply chains.

I ordered a option order G&L US guitar in November. Had it by March. So the US factory is still cranking stuff out. Pretty sure those aren’t back ordered until 2022.

I had no intention of click baiting anyone. I agree that you have a fair point but I do not know how I can fix the title of the OP. However, I used the report function to ask the powers at Talkbass how to fix the title. If I can fix the title; I will.

Follow up on my earlier post:

Original delivery estimate of L-2k order placed early July was for Oct/Nov time frame. Sweetwater rep let me know it's been extended to late Nov / early December. So I don't consider that to be too bad. Then again, could be further out and they're just not saying yet. We'll see.

It's the Covid madness IMHO.
My friend waited 9 months for a sofa set, reason was the material used for seat
cushions was in short supply.
Another friend needed to replace the tranny in a Western Star big rig. He was told
there was none in the USA. 2-3 months later they found one in B.C. Canada.
It goes on & on.
