G&L Tribute JB vs Tribute JB - 2

So I have been looking at the G and L tribute series for an affordable jazz bass. I love the look of the Tribute JB in Lake placid blue but I am also hearing great things about the Tribute JB - 2. Can anyone tell me which one would be better?

They have the same electronics and should be the same quality, so it's a matter of taste, with respect to appearance and feel. Obviously, the JB has traditional J-bass cosmetics, which many players love. But that offset body has its own feel, and some prefer the ergonomics of P-bass shaped bodies like the JB-2's. Also, the JB-2 has a flatter 12" radius fretboard compared to the rounder 9" on the JB. So, if you prefer flatter fretboards (I do), then you might want the JB-2. The JB-2 also has 21 frets, which is a nice bonus for some.

So it sounds like the JB - 2 has more benefits than the JB such as the flatter fretboard (which really doesn't make a difference to me) or the extra fret. So any idea why the JB would be 100$ more? I myself love the classic J - style body much more but I wouldn't want to buy an arguably worse instrument for more than a better one. Thank you for all of the help thus far by the way!

Neither bass is "better" or "worse" than the other. It's more of a look and feel thing. If you like the classic lines of a traditional Jazz then get the JB. If you would rather have something a bit more modern looking with Jazz type single coil pickups get the JB-2. So, going by what you said, get the JB.

Block inlay and bound fingerboard cost more.
