G String sounding "twangy"

Good, don’t need to start a new thread.
Just put a set of standard Ernie Ball Flats on my PJ and the strings sound nice but the G string is quite “Twangy”. I had rounds on it before and it wasn’t an issue.

Is this just a wait for them to break in flatwound string thing?

Checked everything I can on the setup side and it’s all good. Sits in the bridge saddle properly, bridge adjusters making full contact, break angle on the nut is good, and no slop in the nut slot.

Going to eventually swap out the EB flats for La Bellas but I need to order those online because all the local shops here in town have very limited choices in bass strings.
