G wolf tone

Discussion in 'Setup & Repair [DB]' started by Eli_Upright12, Aug 13, 2007.

  1. I left my bass in the shop for 6 months while I was doing a foreign exchange in Mexico, and now that I'm back a wolf tone has developed on the open G string and the closed G. Is this something that could be changed with an Eliminator or is this part of the character of the bass? Also I forgot to try the G on the A string of E string, but I will when I get a chance and get back to ya'll.

This happens with my bass, too. Open G, closed G on D string, A string, and sometimes low G on the E string.

If anyone has any ideas why this is happening, chime in! Luthiers?
