Gallien Krueger 800RB- Cab Suggestions?

As some of you may remember, I picked up a Peavey 2x15 and a GK 800RB on the cheap last summer... and promptly blew up the cabinet. Turns out the drivers were only worth about 80 watts apiece since they had been sitting for 40 years. Anyways, that cabinet is still sitting here unloaded and untouched, and so begins my predicament.
I've gotten by (barely) with my lil' 2x10 in practice (much quieter than stage volume), and have been lucky enough to have provided backline at most gigs. Now that spring is rolling around, though, I need the volume again. The issue is that this is a big cab, and a hassle to move around. The weight isn't a huge deal thanks to the casters, but getting it into my tiny sedan is quite a production. Add to that the fact that using this cab would mean that I need to choose between this monstrosity and a tiny rig for a gig (when most of my gigs are midsize bars/restaurants that require something in between), and the whole thing starts to seem a little impractical. I only need the extra volume that this provides a couple of times a year.
That being said, it would only cost $300 to put Black Widows in this cab, as opposed to a couple hundred more for new cabinets or building boxes. I'm thinking that smaller cabinets are the best way to go, but it opens up a whole new can of worms. 10s? 15s? I've heard great things about Bag End, but they're not cheap. I've also heard that 4x10 cabinets are pretty much the devil, and that vertical stacking is the only way to go, especially without PA support. How true is that?
So many questions. Thanks for reading.

The 800RB sounds good with just about anything, although Ampeg 810's, or on a smaller scale, the 410he (sealed 1/2 an 810 + a tweeter you can turn down) does hit a sweetspot.

Your Peavey, loaded with 1505 Bw's, or even 1502's if you don't mind a little grind as you get loud is another.

+1. I've had an 800RB for a loooong time (along with the other older RB series) and they go with just about anything. Sound is phenomenal through an 810 though.

I own one of Husky's old 800RBs. I've used it through a GK Neo 212 and an Ampeg 810E. Both sounded great. I used it through another 212 the other day, Dont know the brand. Still sounded great. The old Hartke 410XLs are another favorite cab of many 800RB users.

410's are fine, they're just not ideal-vertical driver arrangements are better for horizontal midrange dispersion. But 410's are plentiful, loud and inexpensive on the used market. Neo versions are light. I'd think a great compromise in your case would be the GK212 Neo. A bit smaller and lighter than a 410 with probably 3/4 of the output potential. Not cheap, but looks to be a fine cab.
Your 215 cab? Fire. Burn it with fire. : D

Thanks for the information, guys. I've been browsing CL and the Guitar Center used site (which I love, by the way- highly recommend it) and it looks like decent cabinets can be had from $200-350, which is definitely doable for me. The question, then, it what complements the sound of my amp for a loud old-school power trio- I like warmth, definition and a little bit a grit, all of which the 800RB has in spades.
Right now it looks like an Ampeg 410HE, Gallien Krueger 410T, SWR Workingman's 410, and Hartke 410XL are in the running, and hit the sweet spot price wise. Maybe I'd even splurge on a mactching 210 for the Hi Amp... once I decide what the right cabinet is.

Of those you mentioned, my first pick would be the 410he. At least give it a listen. Ampeg sealed 10's and GK amps have a ying-yang thing happening that just plain works.

The Hartke will be considerably bright/clanky compared to that. Different sort of tone I wouldn't use the word "warm" to describe.

The GK and SWR, I'd have to hear to offer opinions. That amp will rock an old SWR Goliath cab pretty good, but the workingman's is a different, more budget model with different speakers.

The GK cab you might really like...or not. For me, the older ones when paired with a GK amp had too much of the GK thing going on where you couldn't get away from "that sound" if you wanted to. Either super growly or super clean and lacking some warmth. I have not heard any of the newer GK cabs.

Ive owned a workingmans 410 although I never used it with my GK it was a great sounding cabinet. I dont think you can go wrong with any of them.

If you decide to do the 410XL, I have three 210XL's that are going to be looking for a home soon .. priced right and two are nearly brand new ... ;)

Ya they do, or at least that's how I live my life... GK cabs are great as well, but they seem to have extended frequency responses. It really comes down to whether or not you want your highs and lows managed like an Ampeg or open like the GK.

That being said, head to a store with your head and plug into as many cabs as possible, see what they all do for you.
