Forklifts are for pansies. I've got access to two, but that's beside the point. Today I ran bass->800RB->410HE+210AV while jamming after work with my guitarist, who happily took the opportunity to crank his Fender Super Reverb. Now, that's a loud amp when it's stock, but he took his 74 and added a SS rectifier and EV+Ragin Cajun speakers, and it's the loudest 40 watter I've ever heard (probably pushes a little more with the new rectifier, too).
But my rig kept up without breaking a sweat. I tried biamp mode, but there was a kind of strange mid-scoop going on, so I ended up running full range. It sounded great- the dark and bassy SLM 410 added a nice low end heftiness that my little 210AV had been lacking, while retaining that sweet top end that I love, and bringing it closer to my ears. I dialed in just a little bit of grind with the help of the Boost and Volume controls, turned off the tweeter, and sat back in my nice warm bass bath.
Overall, I'm pleased enough with this rig to decide I'm not buying any more amps for a good long while. I love the volume I can get, but I love the modularity, too- I can run 2, 4, or 6x10 and have the same basic tone at my fingertips. Definite keeper, pics to follow.
