Great amps!!! Full disclaimer, I also have an Aguilar DB751 which is amazing. Hopefully this doesn't get my GK street-cred revoked.preamp.
I do see a lot of Aguilar's out there.
And pickup's/ preamp's.

I know they have pickups & preamps, but I don't believe I ever played any. They make really good pedals too! My experience with Aguilar began with my cabinet, DB412 that pairs incredibly with my 700RB-II. I always wanted an old-school SVT for a different vibe, I gave the Ampeg Heritage SVT several tries but had zero luck (after several amps, each had tube issues and hadn't even gigged them) and exchanged for the DB751 and I have lots of ground covered between those amps.I do see a lot of Aguilar's out there.

Had a Blueline SVT back in college. Selling it's one of my biggest regrets.I know they have pickups & preamps, but I don't believe I ever played any. They make really good pedals too! If you are looking for a great cabinet, the DB412 is a perfect match for GK!
Oh. I should have expected this answer since I've used a Master Effects Super 800+ this way (ie bass into preamp pedal into effects return.) Durp. You can, but it will deactivate the front panel input - so you could use the FX return to play music over your bass rig during breaks, but you couldn't use it to play along with that music
The MB-200 does what you want perfectly. Plus, it's a great little amp.I'm old and lazyLooking for a single amp that provides headphone and aux in (and bass of course) for silent practice - and use same amp for gigs. But, lots of choices out there including the Legacy line that replaced MB. I had a line on a used MB500 (great amp) which was why i was asking before i purchased.

what do you have now & what do you miss about it (other than how valuable that amp is today)?Had a Blueline SVT back in college. Selling it's one of my biggest regrets.

Excellent stuff @bassmike2010. Great photo as well! Going to fire-up my RB after diner.I presently run one of the GK RB heads and the crate BC 215 vented cabinet with Eminence Delta drivers and other upgrades. I still have a Trace Elliott AH350x 410H double stack on occasion.
Back in college the '77 SVT I ran through a Cerwin Vega V folded 118. Although a lead sled, it had tremendous power and multiple rocker panels to accentuate various EQ frequencies. And of course a wonderful tube sound. Got spoiled. Sold it to a fellow bass player who had an 810 who was always bugging me to sell it to him I was graduating getting married and moving to Texas to work at NASA. Didn't think I would be playing for a while. Hindsight 20/20.

Hmm. Here's a thinker. Have you all ever seen a 1001RB-II without the Mark II red text on the faceplate? On Reverb currently, there's a listing for a 1001RB with the Mark II faceplate, but without that red text that appears on the left or right sides of said faceplate. Is that a thing?
Thanks for the info! Is there any other production differences between the ones that do and the ones that don't? Or was it just a cosmetic change? The later units did not have the red screen,

Thank you Robert. For all you do. Legend. There are no other changes.

Hey kiddies! I got an 800RB question! If I want to send a line signal to, say, a small kick-back combo on the other side of the stage at a gig, to use as a monitor for the drums, or for personnel on the other side of the drummer, would I use the effects send? Would that interrupt the signal going to the power section, or does it merely tap that signal, so it can be sent elsewhere also?
In the amp it's getting sent to, I imagine...That will give you a signal but you may have a hum issue.

Possibly...split the DI out from the back? That will give you a signal but you may have a hum issue.
