Are you aware 100% of your TalkBass participation has consisted of posts critical of the MB2-500?
@ Heavy Duty- Uh...yeah...I am very well aware. I've been 100% critical bc the only experiences I've had were terrible and I was led to believe that this was generally..99%....a reliable amp by GK and it wasn't. You expect me to be anything other than critical?? Choosing to ignore the fact that I have been honest and separated facts from opinion in every post is on you. But I've been honest and fair based upon my experiences.
@ Gtrslnger- Along w/ most people..I appreciate knowing the real truth about a product before buying it. But I don't care to read 31+ pages of forum posts just to find out the latest on an amp's reliability. Unfortunately...I didn't do so in this case and trusted the info I was given by GK and it backfired on me. My posts started with inquiries...trying to get info and help. I have not simply reiterated the same exact thing 14 times over.
Seriously...why do either of you care? I'm not here to please GK loyalists or TalkBass board nazis. Had I known about this forum before buying w/ the MB2...I would've appreciated knowing as much as I do now and would have never bought it in the first place. I'm not concerned about what either of you think. I care about the guy considering spending his hard earned money on a faulty amp and being given...IMO....false information by the manufacturer and as a direct result...going through the same ordeal a second time. SO...hate all you want. Had you been in my shoes...you'd appreciate where I'm coming from. If YOU'RE so happy w/ YOUR gear...then why don't you stop worrying about what I have to say? Note that I have not one post on any MarkBass LMIII forum or GK cabinet forum on here or anywhere else for that matter. I am happy with both and have no desire to hate on those trying to help others who've had problems.
So why are rockguitarist and unclekebm not getting new units if theirs are still not working right? I plan on getting one this week knowing I could have issues but also thinking GK would take care of those issues. Is this no longer the case?

I am absolutely confident this is the case. No doubt whatsoever in my mind, based on a LOT of first hand experience with Bob and his products....I've found Bob Gallien to be the kind of person who genuinely cares about his product and those who buy it.
Music 123 had these for $499 + 15% off. Now They are $599 and 20% off. Should have bought it yesterday!
@ Heavy Duty- You have excellent selective reading skills. You're great at filtering out content that doesn't suit the picture you want to paint in your mind. I've had nothing but good things to say about the LMIII and my GK NEO 4x10. In addition....my posts began inquiring about others who may have had similar problems with their MB2's. I continued updating my posts letting others on here know how things were going and what was happening on my gigs with the MB2. While growing increasingly frustrated, I was still looking for answers and help as I wanted the MB2 to work for me. After giving two of these heads a shot and having both have power failures multiple times over the course of more than half a dozen gigs....I only then posted my final opinion of this head. The only thing I've done here is look for answers and help and share my experience and opinion. Isn't that what this forum is for? Despite your conspiracy theories and assumptions...I have NOT come here simply slamming a product or company. Agenda?? Lol. Are you still looking for the second shooter on the grassy knoll? Gimme a break. You'd figure, as a moderator, one would want to look at the whole picture and not just select portions thereof.
Sure, Wilbur - bloviate all you want but a simple search of your 16 TB posts shows every single one of them is critical of G-K. When someone shows up at our site and does nothing but criticize a single person or product... they bear watching.
I've been in and out of GK gear over the years. But after meeting Bob and getting past his MODESTY, all of us that have dealt with him realized quickly that he's a freakin' legend in amp design (hence the name of our article dedicated to him). His successes as an engineer, in and out of bass gear, and the fact that he also owns the company and the brand, make him unique in an age of contract designers and shifting ownerships. This guy knows what end is up, and he has a track record of standing behind his products like they are his children. Does that mean everyone will be happy? No, that's not possible. But can you count on GK to stand behind what they make? 40 years of doing just that is a record that NO one has in the bass industry. We tried to convey how impressed we were with Bob in our reports - but I'm sure we fell short.I am absolutely confident this is the case. No doubt whatsoever in my mind, based on a LOT of first hand experience with Bob and his products.
I've met with him personally on multiple occasions and even participated in an interview and multiple in-depth conversations covering everything from nitty gritty tech stuff to business philosophy. He's the real deal, and you can rest assured that, whatever is currently wrong with this amp, is being very actively worked on.
I don't work for or represent GK in any way whatsoever, but at least I'm totally positive that GK definitely does care about their customers, and is just as upset about the negative experiences as the customers are... maybe even more-so.
If folks have gone beyond their patience limits in some cases, so be it, that's understandable. This has been a bit of a rough ride for some. However, if there are still current remaining issues with the head, I'm positive their days are numbered.
IMHO of course.
I think when there's this kind of singular focus in the entirety of someone's TB content, it's reasonable to be suspicious. Just do a search on all his posts and you'll see the point of concern. I'm not passing judgment at all... just sayin' if all you have to go on is all his posts here, it does seem a bit odd.Seems unusual to see a Moderator getting into it like this. I still think this approach is stifling free speech. I don't believe anything rockguitarist posted was other than fact, and normal frustration given the situation he was in.

Let me put all your paranoid concerns to rest Heavy and anyone else who thinks I'm 'suspicious'. It's actually laughable to me, but whatever. I don't work for any manufacturer or store. I'm a full time musician, mainly guitarist/vocalist. I happen to have picked up a gig playing bass. I needed an amp. I put blind faith in this amp and it failed me. I got very frustrated. Especially after being reassured about the overall reliability by GK and then getting a second lemon. I'd hate to see anyone else go through what I've been through....so I inform and share...separating fact from opinion the whole time. Yes...I am critical of ONE amp of the many GK offers and the info I was given about it. I haven't bashed the company as a whole and every one of their products. I have reiterated that I'm STILL a GK cabinet owner and happy with it. I don't have an 'agenda'. For crying out loud, relax would ya?

Now the fact you have plenty of GK gear yourself wouldn't make you biased in their defense would it?
