ah man... sorry to hear.. I dont know if its the same problem but mines gets really bad static that clicks on and off when I play different notes(literally hit one string static.... hit it again no static.. and so forth) during headphone use. Haven't had problems playing it through a cab other then the pop i get when clicking the boost on and off. which could be just because the foot switch is passive.. then again the "master-b" knob seems to not work at times.. which I guess isnt that bad since I never really used the boost as a boost in other gk amps... however it would have been nice to use it now that they provided a foot switch.. ah man I am torn :help:

Same thing happened to me. Except it's an A00 model. I'm currently using it as a power-amp for my PJB bass buddy. No problems after ten gigs running through the effects loop. The problem seems isolated to the preamp.

today I played through it again and the static/fuzz started again and then went away.. It appears to be intermittent. This really makes me paranoid to take it to a gig. I love the sound of it when it is trouble free. Sounds incredible with my Genz Neox 212T cabinet.

There is a pre/post button next to the DI. If you have it set to "post", the volume control does have an effect. If it is set to "pre", the volume control has no effect.

Direct Out:

The MB² Series provides a low noise, high quality balanced direct output for connection to PA and recording consoles. A Ground Lift switch is included to remove hum and buzz when connecting to equipment powered by a different ground system.

With the Pre/Post EQ switch set to “Pre” (Out), the direct output signal is fed directly from the input stage providing a low noise output superior to external direct boxes and impedance transformers. In the "Pre" position, the direct output signal is only effected by the Input Volume, -10db Pad and Mute. This allows you to adjust your tone and volume on stage without changing the Direct Output signal level and confusing your sound man.

Changing the Pre/Post EQ switch to “Post” ( In), sends the "GK Sound" (EQ settings etc.) and preamp response to the Direct Out jack. This gives you complete control over the Direct Out’s tone and volume.

If I'm reading this correctly, according to the manual the Master will effect the DI signal only when the "Post" button is engaged.

Probably because a lower powered version would end up costing pretty much the same and you can always just turn the volume down as has been mentioned.

I'm guessing you're real concern is about a careless moment and the potential for blowing some speakers? If that's your concern, I'd say you probably don't have as big of a worry as you might think. Most speakers can handle greater than their rating if the signal is clean.

Just reporting in.....another gig in a medium sized 200-300 people room. Nothing but Spector NS-2 kick ass grind through the GK tonight. I pushed it hard, hard enough I was taken out of the board for a while....not a drip of sweat out of it. With the right bass, the give channel sounds -incredible-

Those having problems either do have a dud for a head, are eq'ing wrong, or have the most inefficient cabs on earth. This head through a schroeder 1210L is brutal, and honestly the most I'll ever need.
