On a side note. I opened mine up today to see if I could remove the chrome handles...don't feel like they are necessary, but for me, it prevents me from using a right angle cable on the input, so when the amp is sitting on my cabinet, I have 6"+ sticking straight out and wrapped backwards 180° to get to my wireless output.

It seems the screws go into the handles from the inside, and I'd have to literally remove half the guts just to get at 3 of the 4.

Then, I'd have to rig up some alternative bolt (I'm thinking a hex head to look nicer) and nut to go in the other direction...from the looks of it though, it will be too much work. Kind of bummed about it.

Yeah, I took a look at this as well - as I was originally thinking of having a right angle cable going directly to the left and to the rear to hook up with my X2 - the rack version, same as you.

After dismissing that idea due to the complications you mentioned, I figured that there are two ways to accomplish hooking it up in a clean way 1 - use a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], and just permanently hook it up, or to just have a standard right angle cable pointing up and make a hairpin turn back in. I chose the latter as you can see on page 32 of this thread.

It's not the most efficient thing in the world, but it gets the job done and lets me go from wireless to wired with the pull of a plug.

Didn't someone here get their MB2 replaced directly through someone at GK? Can you pm me or post that persons info again? I need to send mine, in, it's messed up badly now, and the place I bought it is out of stock for the immediate future. I'd rather not wait more than I need to...thank you.

Alright, the email address is for Brian Clark: [email protected]

I actually just received my new amp not even an hour ago - though I'm at work so I can't try it out. I've got a pretty big gig tomorrow night though, so I'll be able to provide more thoughts on the thing after.

As far as the timeline is concerned for the exchange process, I first reached out to GK 11/3 and had a response back by 11/5. On 11/6 I received the shipping tag, and sent out the amp - and now I have my replacement in hand and it's 11/12. So, yeah I was out of an amp for a grand total of about a week.

All in all I think it's a great testament's to GK's customer service. Sadly I can't leave right this instant to try it out!

Is it actually considered a different model now?

RAG said all they did was adjust the center point on a few of the EQ knobs.

Am I missing something here?

I believe A02 took care of the EQ defaults, and A03 took care of the RFI issue.

Not one hundred percent sure this is accurate, but it's how I believe it went. Only one person could really tell us for sure...

Ok, sorry I made a poor choice in words. I'll edit it...

That's cool. I wasn't trying to come down on you or be the language police. :)

I'd be willing to bet that the RFI thing was an isolated case. I really doubt that all MB2s from that first batch have RFI issues. I know mine doesn't. Something as simple as a bad solder joint can lead to RFI problems. I doubt there was a design change involved.

I dunno, the first thread on page 42 is what makes me think that something was done.

Besides, its not like my RFI issue was an isolated case.

BTW about the word choice, it's cool - model truly was a poor choice. With all of the conjecture about these things (including my recent inclinations) making things as clear as absolutely possible is definitely a good thing.
