Gallien Krueger mbe112 problems! help!

my GK mbe112 won't give me much output unless I turn the thing way up and start slamming on my bass. and then it will all of a suddenly give me regular output and eventually crackle out again until I do it again.

Any ideas?

You could try cleaning the jacks for the input and the effects loop. It's possible that they have become oxidized or dirty.

hoo! It worked! oh man. I've been so lazy with it! and that's all it took! I feel like I have a brand new amp! oh man, I love this thing. I have another question:

could there be any problem with playing a guitar through it? the guy who sold it to me told me that its fine for that, but I'm skeptical.

Carol Kaye uses hers for guitar as well as bass.
