Gallien Krueger Powered Cabs

I thought I had but I just emailed 'em through support. The phone went to voicemail.
The only other configuration not discussed here that works when using an MB head with the Chain Out to an MBP cab, is you can also simultaneously use the regular Speaker out from the MB head into a regular non-powered cab.
But when using the MB head into the MBP cab, only one power amp is working, and it's the one in the MBP.

Well, like I said, I owned all of these pieces, and that's how they worked:)
I still have the MB200. It's a no brainer to have as backup head. Bang for buck is ridiculous.

All GK needs to do is make the MBPs so they work more universally with connecting different pres and they'd have a winner I suppose . . . . but on the OTOH there's a reason why the whole "powered cab with external preamp" kinda thing isn't that popular. A regular non-powered cab you can use with any head and a separate amp head is just as convenient and ultimately more flexible.

I was reading the specs on a Magellan pre and I think it would work.

You have the Plex, no? I'm sure that's a great unit. If I wanted to stick with using MBPs that's the route I'd certainly go, makes the most sense (but I'm a GK guy--that's the sound I dig).
Yeah, and it's perfect. I have two of 'em actually. I keep one at home and one to go. I have an MB212ii at home, and aux in for practice, if needed, or use headphones, and have an MBP112 and 212 for rehearsals, shows, etc.

The modular nature of Plex + MBP cabs is perfect.

It's the sound I dig too, and I love it, but honestly I just get curious about other amps, and wanna get Genzy or Mesafied sometimes without going all in on one of their heads.

Also, I haven't had a passive cab since going MBP. You can probably answer this - whats the passive gk equivalent of the mb combo cabs?

Hmm, all I know is I have a Neo IV 2x12 and a Neo IV 1x12 and they sound killer. Super clear, punchy, articulate. But I use a Legacy head so there's a bit of a different sound right there--more like an old RB.
