i picked up this material after seeing it mentioned in a three about fretless. I think it’s worth a thread to discuss some of the points made in it.
First one I’ll mention is #5: Speakers Up. I’ve always contended that getting the speakers up at ear level helps all players. And I think the answer is, clearly, a full stack. For both bassists and guitarists, it gives the floor coupling that makes real ‘meat’ in your sound... and the top speakers allow you to hear yourself, which results in you turning down the volume a notch!
Speaking of volume, #77: Play Soft. This means the amp needs to be loud! Dovetailing with #5 above, high power into a full stack gives you the ability to play soft while having impact.
