I've convinced myself that my current setup is enough for my needs.
Good on getting to know what you have.
When you want to get a more out of your sound, get another MarkBass 102P.
With more watts you are still limited with what your speakers can produce.
More speaker= More sound.
Imagine staring at four of those luscious yellow hooters, as they beautifully dance in and out together, while they are screaming at you with bigger sound.
They will lay on top of each other, so it will not take up more space than the one.
IF you stack them vertically they will take up less floor space. You will just have one tall model of drool that will hug you with sound.

When I was muckin' around with the MB500, I couldn't take the volume above 9 o'clock, if the gain was past 9 o'clock. They get scratchy down at the bottom of the sweep too.
The Tone Hammer definitely had a point in the low volume sweep where it went from nothing to Boom. It just didn't gradually increase in the lower part of the sweep.

I don't know, that's a lot of air you're moving there, even at low volumes… I bet you have a hard time keeping stuff on top of that desk

My 2x10" gets plenty loud. I think I would need to be playing the Fillmore to make use of 8x10".
I started putting new strings on my basses today. I want to have 3 tunings. E, Eb, and C# or D.
My goal is to spend more time playing/practicing than I do looking at or thinking about gear.
The next step is to spend more time OFFLINE instead of online talking about gear.
Maybe I could wean myself slowly, by spending more time in the Instruction section of the forum instead of gear discussions.

For years I ran a revolving door bass situation looking for "the one". I got all kinds of agita from friends and family but I didn't care. I tried just about everything extant so long as I could get it used and at a price where I could be reasonably assured to break even if/when I decided it was not the one I was looking for.
Things got a little crazy at times with piles of basses and multiple amp rigs but it was always a work in progress so I didn't really worry to much about it. Then one day I found "the one", at least the bass, and it took me about 5 minutes of piddling with it at the music store to know my search was over. I dumped all my other basses and pared down the amp rigs to a single 410, a main and backup head, and proceeded to play almost nonstop for several years happy as a clam. I finally added a bass because I was doing some outdoor shows in high summer in NW Florida where it's so humid it gets drippy when the sun goes down and I didn't want to risk my favorite bass, so a nice used little MIM J was added. Same with amps, plus I needed a lot more amp so I just did the easy thing and got a couple peavey 215's and a couple of MK IV 400 heads. The night of the last show I sold one of the amp rigs and bass and returned to my rusty trusty old standby rig and was again happy as a clam.
If you are GASsing, there is a reason, obey the urge and you will be rewarded.
