GC has 2 prices listed for a Standard P

Was just romping through the Guitar Center catalog online and noticed something wierd.

They are listing a new Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar for 580

At the bottom of the page, they are listing a new "Fender Standard Precision Bass" for 450.

Same guitar??? Anyway, if I was in the market, I'd want to know, so voila.

I noticed the $450 Standard P says:
On order (available 4/14/2011)

Also, sometimes people who update massive music store websites aren't always musicians themselves. So who knows.

Yeah...who knows. Maybe a typo. Not in the market myself, but looks like a good price for a new MIM P, if that's what it actually is.

If you can get it for $450...do it. That was about the list around 1999

Weird indeed. They have different GC item numbers, different MSRPs, and different discounts from MSRP.

It's leftover stock of the pre-upgrade version of the standard P-bass. The higher priced standard P and Jazz basses had factory upgrades along with an increase in price.
