gear shopping - it's a sickness

The only guaranteed way that I knew I would never improve was to keep trying.
After years of it, I simply realized my limitations. My outlook on it changed greatly over time. I didn't just decide after 3 months that it wasn't for me, we're talking years here.

My outlook on a lot of things changed, when I sobered up.
Well, there's your problem :D just kidding

Hopefully for the better, KbD. :)

If you really think giving it up was for the best because it's just not in you, then it's ultimately a good you thing you accepted that. And hopefully you find something else positive to fill the space making music would have filled up in you and that your overall outlook is ultimately positive. It's always good to see someone overcome that kind of demon. :)

Any betting folks on here? Is it against TB regs to get some kind of guess pool going predicting how long it'll be before our oft conflicted @Killed_by_Death with be reporting some kind of NBD thread ??

Maybe if there's no actual exchange of funds they'll let it ride ;) I'm going with 2 weeks from right now ... tho, could be much sooner! :roflmao:

one of the local pawn shops has a Wah proudly displayed on their pedals cabinet, but not 1 bass worth trying it out with
they've got a Silvertone, which is really light, but the action is crazy high & the nut is too low
so imagine playing with 3/4" action & still having fret buzz on the lower frets

the other shop (3 miles across town) has a couple of decent basses ($300 - $400 range), but no Wah pedal
if I could get that Wah pedal in a demo (N.I.B. - Sabbath), I'd probably buy whatever they had

If you don't have a few specific things in mind, be careful you don't end up just 'settling' for something you may not bond with ... therefor have the urge to play it even less. Choose wisely, Grasshoppa

I messed up, because my specs were:

natural or burst finish
no pickguard
quiet bridge pickup

and I found all that for only $130, it even has 24 frets

but I sat around telling myself I didn't want it, until today :roflmao:

Just always remember to forgive yourself for any "mistakes". Life is short and no one except you is keeping score. If it floats your boat for a bit and it doesn't hurt anyone, who cares? It is all just stuff and stuff can be flipped. Perhaps to even me! Lol
oh and only 6 beers and I haven't bought anything either! Grammar and spelling is a different story!
