way back when I 1st started up grading my All Black JBS I wanted a Moses Graphite neck. I thought it would be better overall instead of painting one black, the JBS originally had black painted back Neck!I never was able to acquire 1 at a reasonable price. Yeah it was just for looks & cause flea played graphite necks! I thought a black Carbon fiber neck would look awesome, but after more research It seemed like A big hassle (redrilling, tapping inserts, & extra $$ didnt seem worth it! plus they were almost impossible to find! & cost more than a Warmoth custom neck. I decided to save up for a warmoth instead.Just wondering what basses or other bass related gear you gassed for over the years but could never find at least at an affordable price. There have been a few for me over the last 10 or 15 years. Prices have risen on some things such that I just wouldn't buy today even if I still wanted it. For most the lust for these has come and gone and I have moved on (its not a wanted ad)
- Warwick Stage 2 4 string - These are few and far between but have gotten more expensive over the years. I found one up here in Canada but it was $4k. I bought a Streamer LX instead
- Modulus Funk Unlimited/Flea - even ran a wanted ad and found a couple of sellers who both backed out. I built a Sterling Ray 34 with a graphite neck and Lane Poor copy pup....didn't sound the same
- Ampeg B15 - the prices have risen on these too
- Audiokinesis cab - ordered one and waited over a year and eventually bought a Subway 115 instead which did the trick
They're in my store. Do you want me to see if they're 120V compatible and sell one to you? I'm cleaning out a lot of gear to move to my old home and I'll never use them again.
I'm not in any hurry and as they won't fetch a huge amount are well down on the list (plus they're store in a rack at the rear of my very crowded storage unit). I hope you get work soon, and if you do and have a few shekels spare PM me.
I figured it might show up in here though not mentioned, the Fender Rumble Custom. I was always enamored with them, though never got the chance to play through one.
It’s weird... But ever since I heard a Precision through a Manley Slam. I wanted one... It was a good session, and when I used a Moogerfooger on the same track simultaneously... Mmmm.. Mmmm... Mmm...
I’ve been hunting for one these 74 American Vintage Basses in this finish. These were made in 2013.
ESP/LTD FL-600 Frederic Leclercq signature model bass.
Although this bass runs somewhat counter to my typical desires in its current form, it could be minimally modded into a daily driver for me. It's discontinued, darn near impossible to find, I doubt many people on TalkBass even have it, but sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants.
Swap out the strap buttons for a pair of Dunlop Straplocks, swap out the active EMG soapbar for a passive Duncan soapbar with a passive volume/tone setup, and put in a Hipshot Xtender for forays into drop-D and that bass would be darn near perfect for me.
It would also make a lovely companion bass to my main (which is a heavily modded ESP/LTD HTB-600 Henkka T. Blacksmith sig model.)

I can think of a couple US models of imports that never came to be, or were in extremely limited editions. Dean's B2 bass (Brian Bromberg) US version looked amazing, and their Korean ones were pretty nice to begin with. And Peavey's Ellefson Zodiac Scorpio model. I have the Chinese one and love it. They did make a couple US models, saw two on Reverb a few months back. But were priced more like the collector's items they are rather than reasonable (IMO).
