Geddy Lee Bass. What's The Difference?

The Geddy is a very versatile Jazz Bass. It has a super comfy neck, great sounding American pickups, alder body & Badass II bridge, and imho, these features combine to bring a classic design into the modern era for players of all varities of music. A great Jazz Bass, whether you are a Geddy fan or not.

I know this is talk bass, but is that a Lifeson 355? Beautiful.

I had one and for what it was it wasn't bad...but it's sound was thin.

It lacked some serious balls(at least to me it did). It didn't seem to matter what I did it never woke up...it had the upper end of sound pretty good...but never seemed to quite cut it for me.

Then again I am not a huge Fender fan. Not knocking them at all by any stretch of the imagination, but if I had to buy a jazz now, I would probably score MIA standard now.

I wish Fender was overall a little more consistent with their basses.

This is why I removed the badassII, when I did it had more low end and the balls you speak of............

I played a Ric...that's how I got the low end I was looking for lol.

I found G&Ls to really tickle my fancy when it comes to a Fender style bass.

Don't get me wrong, I want a jazz bass...but I would love one I could just buy, throw the strings I love on it...and play the nuts off of it and not have to go tonal searching.

Geddys are great for those guitards out there looking to play bass. Most bassists Ive known to own or try one, never really liked how thin that neck is.

Is it so??? The Geddy's neck is the best I've ever tried.
And regrading the price. The Geddy do not cost that much if you consider how well it is build. It is just under the price of an MIA bass, so fine with me.

is it just me or is talkbass becoming youtube. "Look how cool I am, I hate everything".... 5 years ago most of the posts here about the GL bass were glowing.

I don't think so . I think people are starting to look at it past the hype. It's just a Jazz with a skinny neck. I didn't feel the skinny neck was worth the premium that Fender charges for that japanese bass. I had one and sold it. Not a bad bass just over hyped IMHO.
