Geddy Lee/Rush

I used to play La Villa Strangiato in a band.There are some pretty challenging bass parts in that tune but my favorite is YYZ. I'm pretty sure that he played a Rick until Moving Pictures then he switched to a Steinberger. By the way,I saw them perform Hemishperes back in the earl 80's.

Congrats on seeing them in the earl 80's!;) Must've been one awesome show, dude!

I don't think Geddy used a Steinberger until their Grace Under Pressure album. He used his trusty '72 Fender Jazz mostly on Moving Pictures...but, if you don't believe me, here's a link that provides some great detail about that sort of thing...

I love the Geddy talk!! Any one remember the old "Don Kircshner's, rock concerts"?? I've only seen them on reruns, but SHEESH, he played those 'scale type' bass lines SOOO AWESOME back before the 'keyboards', as he was singing totally diff. parts! It's incredible to watch him as a "youngin"!...Oh, BTW, I have a tape of Rush, just before their "Fly By Night" album came out, when they came to Cleveland's "Agora Theater" to promote that album, 1975(i think), just as Neil joined the band. IT IS FANTASTIC!!!....and not for sale, but I am gonna copy it all on CD, and I'll post a song or 2 here when I get my CD burner....Great 'cover' songs that night!!! Don't hold your breath though, who knows when I'll get my burner, or you could probably find it somewhere on the web, go search...IT'S GREAT STUFF!!!

I"m not teasing anyone....If I wasn't SO friggin' "computer stupid", then I could probably figure out a way to hook my cassette into the PC, then copy somehow that way, but I don't know how. I will take any help that you guys could give me, on how to do this!!!! My pc skills go just above: "type, then hit enter"........I was just lucky enough to find "talkbass.com", on a search...LOL

So, email me on this procedure!

Geddy has the GROOVE that RULES!!!!
There are a lot of bass players that I love to listen to of all styles but Geddy is my fave.
I've learned a variety of Rush and its all Great from the beginning to the present. Some of his bass lines are simple and it GROOVES, some of his bass lines are complex and GROOVES even more.
I could go on forever about Rush and Geddy, so I'll stop
But I will say that I too saw the T4E tour and included in the set was the entire 2112 piece from Overture to the Grand Finale and also Natural Science from Permanent Waves. The Best concert I have ever been to.

Geddy is my favorite bassist of all time, and he always will be my biggest inspiration. I relate to his playing and style the most over all others.

I can honestly say that without Rush, I would never have picked up the bass.

I was listening to Hemispheres in the car on the way to the train station this morning and I *never* tire of hearing him jam. I even brought the disc to work with me to hear it a 2nd time at work today.

All this, and a frontman too, great talent.
