Geddy Lee vs Jaguar

darthplagis said:
the jag has old skool big plate elephant ear tuners. oh and a naff vintage style bridge but you cant see mine cos i put a jazz bridge cover on it hehehehehe.

the only problem i have with the jag is the pre amp is a tad noisy.

so the Geddy's are different then?

do both work pretty well, as far as, keeping the bass in tune?

i think the geddys are the same its just i have a jag and not a geddy so i commented on it just to give my opinion on the Q about the hipshot lights. i dont think the geddy is active tho so it wont have any noise from the pre as the jag has but in a live situation you cant tell its there just in the bedroom on a crappy amp. also if you order a jag from japan you can get it in sunburst with a black pick guard!!! it looks nice.

Tort guard.

i don't know if this helps:

my 1977p bass "F" tuners fit on my geddy, but (strangely)the MIJ tuner would not fit onto the p-bass, the ferrells were either too tight or loose (don't remember).

i used the "F" tuners on my geddy for a while when my 77pbass was 'retired'. i just fixed up my pbass (thus putting the original 'f' tuners back on, and bought vintage tuners, and now use those on the geddy. this was all without alteration.

i don't know what brads will fit into the geddy or jag without alteration. best bit is to find something designed exactely like "F" tuners and they will fit.
