Geezer Butler - IS BACK!

Ozzy Sabbath > Dio Sabbath

Though they did have tracks like The Wizard (hell yeah), I feel Dio's influence turned them into another Dungeons & Dragons metal band. It's not that I feel Ozzy's a better vocalist (I don't like ANY post-Sabbath Oz), it's just that the original Black Sabbath line-up was pure magic.

OK, this thread is slowly turning into a "Roth - Van Halen or Van Hagar" argument.

The bottom line is, no matter what you call this band, they were and still are absolutely one of the BEST rock and roll bands EVER. I saw them in concert last August and was blown away. And they wrote classic tunes. I am anxious to hear the new recording.

Well My copy arrived today and i have to say....this is a very strong Disc....hard to believe these guys are all in their mid to late 60's and still bringing it....

the first three tracks seem kinda forced when compared to the other seven

Geezer really brings the groove on track six "The Turn of The Screw"

Iommi really brings it on tracks seven and eight....some of the best leads i have ever heard him play

and to comment on the whole Ozzy Dio thing...

I am a huge Sabbath Fan and though i love the original line up...... i have to say from the viewpoint of a musician the Dio years are overall "musically" better records than anything ever recorded with Ozzy.....IMHO

Hell even in interviews Bill Ward and Geezer have both said they only consider the original line up as Sabbath

be it HEaven and Hell Sabbath or whatever this is a really good disc well worth the eleven dollars i paid for it....

but Ozzy's voice isn't even in the same zip code as Ronnie's.

Maybe not back then.......but now????:eyebrow:
Sounds like RJD had a stroke or something:

What is RJD now, like 86 years old?????

Side note: listen about 4:50 in for the bass player to make a big mistake, stops playing altogether!! He actually drops clams a number of times in the clip.

So that is the line up for H+H, mmmm, ok. Played the Gillan, terence, tony, drums? video clip ( lots of monster types running around driving milk vans....) on tv last weekend.... Still rate Gillan and Bruce Dickerson as best vocals, though there are many not far behind. Dio is kind of an enigma.

To OP, thank you for the heads up. Regards.

That must have been an off night. I was front row center for Metal Masters and Ronnie was fantastic.

Did anyone watch the Making Of dvd that came with the album... geezer looked like he was enjoying himself using his Lakland Lake Placid Blue joe osborn 5-string! - for a guy of 59 years old hes showing no signs of arthritis his fingers were on fire!
