Gelato...

Though it seems to be all the rage of late (in my neck of the woods, anyhow), I've personally had someone woeful experiences with gelato.

I know how and why gelato is different and how much it's liked the world over. That is why I started this thread. How on earth do I not like it...

Tasty, but seriously overpriced anywhere I've been. They give you that tiny spoon so you can't eat it fast, because then you'd realize you just spent $5 for 3 regular spoonfuls of ice cream. Seriously, $5 gets me a half gallon of Blue Bell ice cream. Which, as any southerner knows, is the only real ice cream that should ever be consumed. All others are imitators and are legally banned in Texas with punishments including stoning, the electric chair, and community service.

Gelato is fine with me, but not the rage.

jk, I tried it once, can't remember where, and I didn't like it.

Then I had it at another place (can't remember where either) and it was delicious.

So yeah, I guess it probably depends on who made it

In Italy it was good. I have not tried it around here. Blue bell is the icecream we usually get with the occasional trip to marble slab.

Blue Bell isn't carried in too many states, so most of these poor people don't know what they're missing.

I just found out that Aldi's Stores sell gelato. I have not tried it yet.
