Hey guys, Is there a general 'EQ' advice thread or thread about how to get the most of out your amp, setting up gain structure and the like?
If you need more bass turn up the bass knob Need more treble turn up the treble knob Need more or less mids turn up the mid knob. With high gain distortion a high Q notch filter around 200 to 500 hz helps. To prevent over excursion of woofers use high pass filter from 27 to 40hz or roughly 7 to 12 hz below reflex or tuning frequency of driver. To remove high frequency content from distortion use low pass filter from 3.6 to 5 k To fix the bloom from sealed Ampeg cabinet cut 100hz If it sounds great playing by yourself. Most likely sounds horrible in band mix. Crank mids instead. That's about it. Lol
Always start out with all sliders/knobs in the center. Don't start out with the old, familiar "smiley face" and try to go from there (if sliders).
