When I got a set of TI Jazz Rounds, string experimenting ended for me.
They sound and feel exceptional, and they’re long-lasting, so worth the cost. (My set is still going strong at 8 months old with an hour or so of daily play.)
I recently put a set of them on my '94 Gretsch Broadkaster. Mainly because I'd bought the Jazz Rounds by mistake (thought I was buying Jazz Flats); the 'Kaster was the only bass they would fit - that needed new strings; and, in the hope that maybe they wouldn't sound like crap - like every other string I'd tried on the stupid thing. And... surprise, surprise! They not only don't sound bad; they sound Great. And, yes, for rounds, they do feel exceptional. They have joined the very exclusive handful - a tiny handful - of rounds that I like and use. And, as an added bonus; the dark green silk makes "Big Orange" here, look even more like a carrot...
