Genz Benz 210T Cab (6.0 Shuttle) Question

I'm new kind of to bass ,and want to step up from the Ampeg HP 115 combo I am using. I think my bass sounds better on my Laney LC 50 (guitar) tube amp , but I'm afraid of blowing the speaker. Since I have a few Great tube amps , would a 210T cab work with these - Marshall ,Fender, Vox ? I should mention that the 6.0 shuttle amp is included in the sale .It works but it makes some kind- hissing noise - . I don't know how bad it is , but i see this problem is not totally uncommon for this amp , maybe it can be fixed. Anyway -for now I wondering if the cab can be used with other amps or, if this is waist of time and money. Price is about $250 - for the whole thing. Thanks !

That's quite a deal actually, but be sure the speakers are working properly too. If you were here in the states, the flat rate cost of repair is $85 USD. It's shippable, but that would add maybe $150 - $200 to the cost round trip. If you are visiting the states (after the Covid-19), or if you have family here, that's another way to get it addressed.

Seriously though, OP great deal on even just the cab if it's working properly.

Agedhorse is the designer of that amp and has the parts and service program for the Genz Benz stuff.

Some folks prefer sealed cabs with tube amps better, and there are some reasons for that, but you will likely be very happy with that cab hooked up to practically anything, IMHO.

Ok, I saw there there was a LOT of love for these . I'll see if I can work something out with the seller. I can't pick it up/ try it - for a few weeks. He just lowered his price to 250 , so someone might beat me to it. Will see . Thanks

Shuttles are great amps, and as AGEDHORSe said, you can get that tuned up for a song. If its still working and just "hissing", I think it can be saved. (especially if its just scratchy pots or something simple).

And yes, I do own a shuttle 6.0. I use it with 2 112 cabs.

I've had Genz Benz amp and speakers before and I was incredibly underwhelmed and sold them right away. There is a reason they are that cheap. This guy's opinion shows he doesn't think much of them either. I found the speakers to be very neutral and lacking character. They were loud but just didn't seem like I could get any great sound out of them. They always sounded so "far away".

The 210T is a pretty good cab. I use it as my light/practice cab when I don't need a ton of volume. It will still get moderately loud but I like to have a lot of headroom with my cab setup. It sounds good, is pretty light (about 37 pounds), and is well made.

The shuttle could be something silly like user error (crazy gain or EQ settings), or it could be more serious, but at that price it's basically a bonus. I say go for it.

He says it was his main gig amp for many years , but hasn't used it for awhile. Ive seen other GB's , of the same kind sell pretty fast. So that's good. The low price probably the fact that there is a known fault , and I don't think it's easy to find people with the know how to fix amps over here . I don't need a ton of volume , just looking for som juicy sound ! I'll just have to go check it out in a few weeks , if it isn't sold.
