Played through my FCS-210T at Church this AM for the first time. As you can see, I don't have a lot of room to work with, so adding my 115 isn't an option. But the DI was crystal through the PA system and the tone was spot on for my Ric 4003. Many compliments though they would be more for the Streamliner due to the PA.

I hate separating my cabs, though, but at least I have 1 for home and one for Church. If I were to get another, I would either get a 410 (to give me a 610 for outdoor gigs we do) or a 115 (for a 215 stack).

For me I was money well spent - quality gear for the price. Your tone goals may vary, but the ceramics are fine for me for CCM and classic rock, blues rock and the like.

Thanks! 3 things I would add about that setup...

1 - I don't like the precarious way I'm hanging the amp over the front edge of the tilted cab. I wish there was a better way to place the amp.

2 - The crossbar on the quick-lok covers the speak-on connector at the angle shown. I improvised by placing my son's boogie board under the cab to raise it enough to clear.

3 - I had a hum in the DI that went away after engaging the ground lift switch. All was good after that.

I have done that for low quiet gigs. But i put a 4x4 piece of velcro on top of my cab an the mating piece on the bottom of the amp.. Works great.. Amp will go nowhere. But you will need to remove the four rubber feet from the bottom of the amp with a screw driver

#3 yes that is why we love ground lift switches on DIs. They can save the day for sure

DarylW - How would you characterise the difference in tone between your 115 and 210?

I hesitate a little here - I've only played a Ric 4003 through a Streamliner 900 through each (and fewer than 20 hours or so at that), and fingerstyle at that (so I can't speak to slap, etc.). It took me a while to dial the STM-900 in as well (I wasn't happy at first but am very happy after learning much from the tone thread).

But to me the difference is not in "tone" but in presentation. Meaning, they appear timbre matched quite nicely. You get the same "flavor" of sound. One's not darker or colored (coloured) differently or anything like that to my less than perfect ear.

To me, the 15" has a little more "presence," (not sure if others would use the term as I do) for the music I play/like (CCM, classic rock, blues rock). And compared to the 2x10" by itself, I prefer the 15". (FWIW, I don't often play past the 7th fret)

But where all this shines is when you put them together. The sound fills out so nicely. The sum is greater than the parts - they complement each other nicely. I like the sound of them combined much better than the sound of them individually (even when compensating on volume). Perhaps that is in part because of the elevation of one cab on top of another - I've swapped them several times top to bottom and seem to prefer the 15" on top of the 10"s.

Your rig post from the other day inspired me to go out and get the second cab!!!!

IMO, you're right on with your description of the Focus 15 having "presence". The mids are very warm and I think the cab has a nice tone across the entire range - should sit nicely in a mix.

I'm really impressed by the Focus cabs. It's a really nice 15 - probably not quite the bang of the Uber 115 but the Focus has a lot of presence, great mids, and a nice balanced tone all across the board, IMO.

For me it was a HUGE step up - I replaced a used Crate BT50 (practice) amp for home and an Ampeg BA500 (monitor) amp for worship band at Church. I have been GASsing for these GB cabs ever since NAMM. I am thrilled.

And by trading in my G&L as part of the deal, I freed up a slot for another bass (I have to live with a 2-bass limit at the moment - part of the high WAF for everything else). But that's a topic for a different thread.

They are surprisingly LIGHT! I can actually do a one hand carry for a short distance with the 115.
