Hey John - How do you like your rig using both the Focus 115's? I have one and am thinking about getting a second (also not a fan of mixing driver sizes).
I saw in your profile you have a GK MB200 - have you tried to use it with the 2 115's? I have a MB200 and an old Hartke 3500.

Hi Mike,

The two 115s sound fantastic IMO. As is usually the case when you add a second of the same cab, result is more of everything - but still maintains that nice balance across the whole range - which is what I really like about the Focus 115.

I think the MB200 sounds great throught the 2 15s. Amazingly loud too given the 200 watts. I had a GB Shuttle 6.0 that I used for larger gigs but I think the GK actually sounds better in the lows. I'm in the process of replacing the Shuttle - not sure with what though - maybe a 6.2 or 9.2!

Thanks for the info. I am really happy with the MB200 too - I even have used mine to power an SVT 8X10 at a practice space for one band I'm in.;)

I have a 115 + 5 Hartke cab (actually it's the speaker part of an 1155 combo - I have removed the 3500 head to make it easier to transport - bad back and shoulder). I need to try it with the GB 115 and see how they sound together. That cab is 55 lbs vs 46 for the Focus though. Should probably just get another Genz 115 and be done.

55 pounds is not too bad although 10 pounds is a lot if you've got a bad shoulder. It is hard to beat the portability of the Focus cabs. I've got a bad shoulder too and I find that I can do a fairly manageable one hand lift and short carry on the 115. In some ways it's actually easier to maneuver than my Aggie GS112.

Yeah - 55 is much better than 80 - which is what the 1155 Combo weighed with the head installed. I like the old Hartke 3500 head, just so-so about the cab though. Plus it's 20 years old. I put the head in a 2-space gator rack bag so I can use it with different cabs.
I will rarely need two 15's, but it would be nice to have the matching Focus for when I do.

P.S. I also have a Hartke 210XL - which is a good cab but weighs the same as the Focus 115 and moves less air.

There are three reasons I eliminated the GB Focus 112 cabs from my list:
1.) The initial design with the handle on top looked cheap to me and would cause stacking issues. I'm sure I could mod it, but its not worth it to me. I've heard that they may have changed the handle, but every picture I've seen still has it on the top.
2.) In all of Los Angeles/SF Valley/High Desert I was able to find ONE store that had ONE Shuttle head and ONE Uber 115 cab. I don't know how such a big company that lives under Fender's umbrella could have such lousy distribution.
3.) When I emailed GB's customer service to try to find a store that actually carried the Focus equipment, it took more than a week to get a response that was little more than a long winded "We don't pay attention to stuff like that." That earns them a pretty big "F" for "F U" in my book. At least when Bergantino responded to me to tell me I'd have to drive 3-6 hours just to hear their equipment (which scratched them off my list) they did it quickly.

I really liked the head so I bought a Shuttle 9.0 for a smoking price. The cabs might be good but I'd never know because they are like trying to catch Big Foot.

Squier CV 50's P with flats, 2 X 15's = thump city ;)

My GK MB200 head sounds great with these two, doesn't look as impressive though:p

Well I used my mini setup last night, and it held it's own with a eleven piece band. I really didn't push them because of what they are rated at. and i was using them with my Eden WT550 head, but they sound great! Good low end, and mids, and the highs were off the chain. I had the bottom tweeter turned down, and the top cabinet turned up. I used my Ibanez SR1206E bass, and it smoked. The band was feeling it, the band leader is a bassist also, and fell in love with my sound. All in all the cabinets performed very well. Now I must say, even tho they had good low end that don't have the same big sound my Epifni has, but i didn't expect that from them, they had a lot of mid high bite. We use a sound team, so I'm coming threw the mains, but the stage volume and feel was all I could ask for, they have a kind of old school thump that you can feel, but not boomy, and all the notes were crystal clear. They have a mix of modern, and old school sound when I slapped.
