I guess I am the first one to have a failed shuttle 3.0-8T. The first night at rehearsal it was bulletproof. Second time out it had a "rattle" that would come & go. The next morning it was clear for a couple of minutes and then the rattle started again. I suppose it is a wire leaning against the speaker, but when I called my dealer he had 'the right answer'. He said just send me the whole thing back so we can make sure what the problem is, and I'll just send you a new unit.
Now THAT, boys and girls, is great customer service.

hmm....I'm glad you're happy with the customer service but I wish you had contacted me before considering it a "failed" Shuttle.

Hey Hasbeen,

What is the aux in for on the Shuttles. It says for a CD input so I'm wonder could these work as a headphone amp as well?

I use a Cafe Walter and if the shuttle could perform that niche I'm quite interested.

Yes Hasbeen, that was me.
I've just been on the phone, again, to BH in Perth WA and they still have no info.
Maybe the National rep has placed an order with you and hasn't passed on the info.
Perth BH do not know anything about the Shuttle range apart from my info to them.
I don't expect the sales staff to be aware of technical info. I have enough of that.
All I want to do is place an order for a 6.0 and Neox 212 and pay a deposit but they won't let me do this until they have some info including price.

Hope you can help as I am ampless and need to know a timeframe before I am unfortunately forced to buy another brand.

yes, for CD....MP3 etc.

Yes, you can use as a silent headphone amp without a speaker load on it. Use normal, stereo headphones and you can set the level and eq the tone from the preamp.

I'm afraid that was kind of my point- they won't know anything until the product comes in and they've gone through some training.

I'm also afraid I can't discuss price; the importer sets price.

I'll be happy to communicate that you're waiting for info. Also, if you PM me your contact info, I'd be happy to pass that along to somebody there that DOES know and they can contact you.

Not AS lightweight (13 lbs for the PLX "04" models vs. 4 lbs for the Shuttle), larger form factor, and also probably costs more than a shuttle 6.0 poweramp would. I'm mostly thinking of someone who has an amp (such as a Shuttle, or another small amp head) and wants more power without having carry around a rack. Or it would make sense for someone that uses a modeling preamp like a Bass POD.

Obviously for someone who already has a rackmount preamp, a rackmount poweramp such as the PLX would make sense.

I know you want GB, bu tthe Focus SA is a very light,loud and portable amp. I used one with a number of preamps, Pod's, etc. A bonus is that the input is instrument level so your BDDI, Fishman, Pod, etc, will properly drive it, unlike a PLX where some pre's and DI's won't push it.

Then just get the Shuttle 6.0 and bypass the preamp.

This makes me laugh. Sorry.

The Shuttle 6.0 is not expensive at all. Cheaper than a Focus SA and I will tell you, from having had a Focus Amp, there is NO COMPARISION.

The Focus was the reason I abandonned the idea of a lightweight amp. It is loud but has NO "weightiness/backbone" to it. No "ooomph".

The Shuttle 6.0 really gets you close to a "Lead Sled" type feel from an amp. My go to head is the GBE1200 and that thing clobbers. The 6.0 was a huge surprise! It was as close as I have heard from a lightweight amp.

Just my opinion.

I agree, Mike. At the prices these things are going for (a bit more than an intro
QSC PLX), you have the ability to have a stand-alone power amp AND a backup head. Two of them will give you 1200 watts, as much as the GBE 1200, and you have some redundancy to absorb an equipment failure.
