Genz Benz Streamliner, Part 10

Regardless that looks like the same idea I had awhile back since I haven't seen the Genz one for sale for quite awhile. Defeats my purpose though as I really dont want to carry a rack around anymore.

Funny. When I tour with the horse production that I'm involved with, one stop is our State Fair, and we eat breakfast at the little hole in the wall on the back side of the racetrack. Reminds me so much of the Wookie Bar, not too far off to imagine Chewy sitting down next to you and asking to pass the roll of paper towels/napkins. Really a unique sort of place is all those unique sort of ways, but always friendly folks.

Hey guys, new streamliner 900 owner here and it sounds wonderful...but I have an emergency! (Hoping enough people are subscribed to read this in time)
I have an armor gold cable that's been a bit intermittent lately and now the tip of the cable is stuck in my streamliner input! I have a gig in 6 hours and this is my only head so I need to fix this ASAP. Can I access it from the inside? Please note I've never opened up the amp before (It already came with a JAN Philip 5751 and 2 x Tung Sol 12AX7 installed and they sound amazing), just thought I'd ask around before I attempt something I might regret.

Opened the amp and, as I figured, it's sealed. Any ideas?
You can remove the top easily. I'm not sure if the input jack has any open areas where you could push the tip out. Be careful not to touch any of the capacitors. I'm not sure how long they stay charged.
The only thing I can think of would be to gently pull the metal tabs up on the input housing and see if that will raise them enough internally to release the tip and let it fall out.
After googling the issue I saw two things that might work:
1. a very small drill bit into the broken jack if you can see if there is a small hole or indention.
2. a small bit into the back of the input housing and a tool to depress the tabs so that you can fish the tip out.
Both are scary to me. The entire input jack may have to be replaced.

Ok I can make it through the gig: VT Bass as my preamp into the FX return...it's not quite the same but it'll do for now. Now to find a qualified tech in my neck of the woods to change the jack (that part's got me more nervous that anything else).

This is the best solution.
Now for a real fix, I have some special tools that I have made that woke sometimes but not always. It's so easy to damage the jack and it's normalling contacts that if a quick attempt at removal does not look productive, I will usually just replace the jack. There are tricks to working safely on double sided PCBs that the pros use, but attempting to replace the jack and damaging the PCB will likely end up with a bigger case of regret than anything else. I still service all of our product, I will PM you with the details.
The cause of this problem has for the most part been traced back to either cheap Chinese plugs or in some cases counterfeit plugs. Only 1 out of about 20 are the real Neutrik or Switchcraft IME, and usually these got bent stressing the rivet.
Double sided circuit boards require a different skill set and tools than an older single sided PWA. Quite easy to lift a pad or delam the substrate.
