The MG350 is a great head. I had an 800/12 for a brief time and went to the smaller MG350 Combo and it's amazing. I don't really miss the 12" cab at this point. Occasionally when I'm outside for farmers market type gigs I could maybe use a little extra something from a 12" cab, but at this point, the convenience of the combo (one hand grab) outweighs all else.

Sure is! That’s in the area I like - full thick but punchy bass with some zing! I had dialled some of that out though after the soundcheck, & was also using a new bass with a three band active preamp so was having a play around a bit with various settings. I am careful with the mids though as too much ‘thud’ is a turn off for me.

They think about it but If you have a choice as an engineer to make the hardware a bit better or spend extra on a power cord the choice is simple. It's not that they don't want to use something better, it comes down to dollars and cents. If you could ask any manufacturer candidly about the power cord they would tell you they didn't give it much thought or simply that "it works." I like my equipment to work as well as it can. Not trying to insult anyone just stating the true reality of the situation...

If it was all about money, why would they spend time and money designing an amp that can work better than what it's power cord will allow? That would be a total waste of money. I believe the cord that comes with the amp gets the amp what it needs to function as well as it can. If you hook up a lightbulb to your cords is it brighter than with the normal cord? What more can it do besides get the power to whatever needs the power? Btw, I didn't mean to imply you were trying to insult anyone. I just think it is a bit insulting to think that they would send you an amp that doesn't work as well as it could because of the power cord. I mean, like maybe the volume knob is also made so that it doesn't turn all the way up? Did they think of that? I bet replacing it so it turns more would get more volume. Sorry, but it seems about as plausible to me. Both seem like things good engineers are capable of addressing with a fair amount of success.

Wow, ok no hooking up a lightbulb to an advanced power cord won't make a difference. How much technology goes into a light bulb? Anyway the proof is in the pudding. Once you've heard it you'll never use a stock cable again, IMO. Anyway this isn't the forum for this discussion, so we both got our two cents in on it. Leave it to each end user to decide what is "worth it" to them.

Anyway, I took my Little Monster (350 Combo) to rehearsal last night and played my Roscoe 5’er, and it seems on every song the band wanted me to take a solo!!! I’m not sure if it was the Roscoe or the Little Monster that they just couldn’t get enough of.
(I used the power cord that came with the amp)

Ok, so my small Genzler rig is freaking awesome! It's amazing the quality and performance I'm getting from this short stack. Obviously, I want to add another BA12-3 and I'm thinking of adding the MG-800 head when I need that amount of power (but I'll keep the MG-350, as I really like the tone).
So, is anyone rocking 2 BA12-3 slant cabs? Asking since I wouldn't want head placement on top a potential issue.

The 800 and the 350 sound pretty much identical to my ears... minus the second channel on the 800
