@Fred312b Thanks for the re-direct. I almost unsubscribed from this cherished thread. There was a possibility of;
A) best strings with 350/800
B) Best 4, 5, 6 with 350/800
C) Pick, slap, pluck with 350/800
D) Best _______ pedal with 350/800
E) Best pedal train order with 350/800
F) Best Right angle plug with 350/800

But do feel free to suggest all these - and don’t forget to specify the speaker combo with each one - whether single 10, dual 10, single 12, tall boy 12, dual 12, 410 or 15

BTW are we still waiting for a 210/15 review here?

My 210-3 is supposed to arrive tomorrow! Soon it will be sitting atop the lovely 115-3. I am not a reviewer but I'm sure I'll post something gushy soon.

Hey here's a question: is there any way to ensure that all the drivers in a cabinet are working properly? I ask because since there're no controls on the cabinet, I can't really hear the array speakers increase or decrease even if I cut/boost highs or lows.

Hate to fess up, but I had a little mishap with a loose cable that caused some pretty nasty pops and booms and I just want to make sure I didn't do any damage to either a driver or the circuit. Is there any sort of test I can run just to make sure other than hoping?

Expecting the 210 any minute now!! FedEx, FedEx, FedEx!

Play a test tone like pink noise (you can download an ap and play through the input jack on the back).

Use ear or a mic to detect differences from one speaker to another. If one blows two speakers won’t sound.

Or you can unscrew the front grill - there’s a 1/4” cable at the top that supplies signal to the highs. You can unplug that and take an ohm reading. If it’s high, shorted or open you have a problem.

you probably would’ve smelled it if you burned one btw.

@dwellers, short of unplugging the array to hear the difference in output, you could crank the HF on the amp and your bass preamp and you should be able to hear the highs from the array. There are no upper mids of highs coming from the 15" woofer. The normal blend between the woofer and array is pretty seamless where you cannot tell which component is reproducing which specific frequency.

Well, I just plugged in the 210 and so far, well, wow. Did I say it's loud? It is. And just what you'd expect. Seems to extend above and below, as I thought, where the stacked 12s sat. The 15 extends into big time rumble country where it moves a serious amount of air. Fretted notes on the E string (sorry no B for me) just shake the walls in ways that the 12s didn't. And they were no slouches, believe me. I bought them because of how much air they moved compared to my Markbass 15.

Playing through both cabinets delivers just the sound I was looking for. The 15 is nice and scoopy while the 210 really shines in the mids. I also suspect this is because the 210 is not on the floor (we have a subfloor so I'm guessing the 15 loves to use the house as a passive subwoofer). Together they seem like a perfect combination of feeling and hearing all the notes up and down the fretboard. I would say that if I had to take one cabinet out, certainly for a rock gig, it would be the 15. If I was less concerned with chest thumping sound, the 210 would be fine. I will say that I don't think I'll us the "B" curve as I find the stack very present in the mids, even in the "A" curve. I suspect that I'll dial back the mids and use the "A" curve exclusively.

Not sure what else to say except that I am exceptionally happy with the look, sound, slant and feel of this rig. I can't imagine a situation I'll be in or tone that I won't be able to achieve with this rig. I'm happy to answer any specific questions if I can.

I do have a question that hopefully Jeff will be able to answer. It looks like some insulation material is sticking out the front left side of the 210. Is this something that needs fixing? Something I can do myself easily? Here's a pic of what I'm talking about in closer detail.

The 12 was fantastic and if I wasn't in a loud rock band, would have been perfect for just about everything I do. The 15 will just make my presence unmistakable (it was before, but for the wrong reasons).

Bottom line is you can't go wrong with any of Jeff's cabinets...it's just a matter of horses for courses, as my old British friend likes to say.
