Since the tubes are not visibly lite up being covered with a solid top plate is it possible that someone could get a brand new amp with one or more tubes not being functional where the person would not even be aware of this, or would the amp distort or not even play under this condition? Please note that I don't suspect this is the case with my Kinetix and also realize Genzler QC is as good as it gets in the industry but am curious since the tubes inside are not visible. I previously had a Mesa WD 800 and really liked the fact that you could see inside the chassis that the single tube was lite up. This is not the case with the Kinetix. Thanks

@Moonskunk ---- Good question about tube life. Your tubes in the Kinetix should last for years without issue. And as Andy said, seeing the tubes and the glow of the heaters is not a good indicator of tube functionality. If you were to have a tube issue, you would hear functionality issues or excessive noise, etc. It would become obvious.
There should not be a concern about tube life.
Naturally there are users that would like to experiment with various tubes in different postions, but we believe we've selected the best tubes, and the highest grade availalble for each circuit within the Kinetix 800 design.
And for this design, we did decide not to show the tubes with some sort of window or grille. We did that with the Streamliner and we felt this amp needed to be a complete departure from our previous work. Also, I kind of feel that showing "glowing tubes" in an amp design has kind of been overdone over the last decade with all sorts of guitar and bass amps, etc..

Wow! I’ve been so focused on reviving and working on my guitar chops these past 13 month for my new playing position that I totally missed the release party for the Genzler Kinetix 800 bass amp!
Now I’ll have to go back many pages in this thread to see what other announcements I missed out on, like the new Genzler Kinetix Tube Pedal.

Hi, I'd like to join the club if I may. After getting some good advice from Jeff Genzler, I decided on an MG800 head and BA-115-3-SLT cabinet. In the photo you can see a few pedals on top that I've been experimenting with, from L to R, Darkglass Microtubes Infinity, Lusithand Alma MkII compressor, and a Polytune3 mini. I play a Dingwall NG3 5-string and a Fender Jazz Bass Plus 4.

The preamp and pedals are not getting a whole lot of use right now, because the flat tone is already pretty damned good. Once I have the chance to get out and use this rig with a band, I'll know better what sort of adjustments I need in the tone.

So far I'm loving it. The 15" easily delivers plenty of low end, and even though it's a large speaker, it sounds tight. Nice fat tones all up and down the neck, and the upper frequencies are smooth and easy on the ears.

I'm used to playing through 2x10" combos with horns, so I would say that this cabinet sounds dark in comparison. I was initially torn about what cabinet to choose, and I'm still not completely sure I made the best choice for me, but it was certainly not a bad choice. My budget doesn't allow for 2 cabinets at this point, and after talking to Jeff it seemed like the 115 would be powerful enough for just about anything by itself, and good deals can be found on the first series Bass Arrays like this one. I'm still curious about how a pair of BA-10-2's or BA-112-3's would be compared to the BA-115-3. No place near me to try them out, unfortunately.

I sure do love my Magellan 800. I've now owned it for about 7 years and, damn, it still sounds so great.
For most of the time I've had this amp my main tone has been with Contour A and the shape around 9 o'clock with the clean channel but in the past 3-6 months I've gone to Contour B with the shape at around noon and go back and forth with drive or no drive...and I love it! BTW I have two cabs an Audiokinesis Hathor 1203 and Audiokinesis Thunderchild 112 which I mostly play separately.

My main basses during this time have been a P with flats that is a bit of a junker and Valenti PJ with Sadowsky pre with rounds. Well, I finally realized that I needed flats on the PJ and I've never been happier with my tone. I've also been using the Crash Box 4 as part of my always on tone (very low drive).

I'm definiltey curious about the Kinetix but I really couldn't be happier with what I currently have. Truly grateful for Genzler products.

Peavey USA Cirrus! You get 2 extra points, haha. I have a USA Cirrus 4-string and STILL have found no other bass that feels as comfortable, with the exception of a few multi dollar basses that are beyond my budget.

Absouletly!! This feature is not there just for extra gain into overdrive. Use it and set the gain/volume controls so that your signal stays clean and feel how the amp opens up to even bolder dynamics.

Great interview Tom and Jeff. I'm finding that for use inside the home with my two 10" series 2_array cabs that I like the boost on and the switch set to the lean position with bass boosted to about 2 oclock. I mostly go for a cleaner sound so set gain and volume nearly equal to around 10 or 11 o'clock. Really sounds harmonically rich and the bass is plently low but tight without being boomy. I'm liking the new amp so much that my other two amps which had easily outclassed several others before them aren't getting used much since getting the Kinetix and will likely be up for sale soon.
