I’m going to get to use my 350/12T-V for a gig in the future. Been asked to play a one off gig doing the Weezer “Blue” album front to back. Should be fun. I should have a Kinetix and BA410-3 or at least another 12T-V for a stack with my current combo, but $1K for a cab for a one off gig isn’t in the finances. I’ll have FOH support so…

I run a pair of the TV12 cabs and they have plenty of volume. You can find occasional good used deals on them and then have a stack when needed.

Bottom cab is aimed at the drummer.

Might have been there but now the blue burst Sandberg has TI rounds and I have another burst Sandberg that has flats. The American Special in the photo is gone.

Well, it’s been a minute, actually over 17,280 minutes, but I got the chance to play bass at an outside venue.
Getting setup to blow some dust off of my 4x10 with my MG800.

Actually, Chuck was building basses with the carved thumb rest previously to the 2018 bass in the photo. He started back building them and gave it its TR (thumb rest) model identification.
The CPT in the photo is my go-to passive Jazz bass when I want one bass to cover every song to be played, plus its light weight is very friendly to my damaged left shoulder.
Paired with the Genzler rig it’s a tone utopia!

Had a fill in gig last night on 6th street….the rig was on point as always but we were in a tight space with a pair of big ole subs/tops and they were pumpin! The room next door had giant subs too blasting rap etc so there were a whole lot of weird frequencies going on for sure. I ended up running a little more top end on my Sadowsky pre and more wide open tone on the bass to help clear things up. Also ended up making some tweaks to the mids to push through….why I love those sweepable mids. Nothing the Genzler couldn’t handle!

The room next door had giant subs too blasting rap etc so there were a whole lot of weird frequencies going on for sure. I ended up running a little more top end on my Sadowsky pre and more wide open tone on the bass to help clear things up. Also ended up making some tweaks to the mids to push through….why I love those sweepable mids. Nothing the Genzler couldn’t handle!

I was going to send a private message to Jeff but instead I'll post my question here since others may be interested or have the same or similar question. Jeff, regarding the Kinetix what kind of life expectancy can one expect from the three 12XA7 tubes inside and how would one know that either one or several of the tubes needed replacement? If one or more of the tubes went out would the amp still work? Since the tubes are not visibly lite up being covered with a solid top plate is it possible that someone could get a brand new amp with one or more tubes not being functional where the person would not even be aware of this, or would the amp distort or not even play under this condition? Please note that I don't suspect this is the case with my Kinetix and also realize Genzler QC is as good as it gets in the industry but am curious since the tubes inside are not visible. I previously had a Mesa WD 800 and really liked the fact that you could see inside the chassis that the single tube was lite up. This is not the case with the Kinetix. Thanks

Seeing the tubes light up is not a reliable indicator of functionality. Some tubes have the heaters placed deeper inside the cathode tube so that the glow is not visible. Most defective tubes still have fully functional heaters that glow.

Thought I’d share this. Bass has a DI signal straight from my board and the second signal is my BA 15-3 SLT mic’d through a mic into my fav preamp into the interface. Enjoy. And please subscribe and like. I don’t have social media so this is my only way to share with the internet world.
