Genzler Amplification ! New Genz Benz ?

To me, this is the beauty of the Shuttle Max.
The FET channel can go from clinical clean, to warm, to full, and clear.
The tube channel can go from clean and warm to tubey SVT land to messy grind.
I'm surprised how good it sounds flat with so many cabinets and basses.

I'm sure you all have had lots of amps but the SM really covers tons of ground.
Best of all, you can create a new tonality with bunches of EQ without sounding brash or unmusical.

Kirt, have you ever played around with some of the Begantino hi-fi stuff?
I have an HT322 but lately have liked the sound of a 2x12 with just a touch of cheap tweeter for rock and R&B.

I'm also curious to as to how the Streamliner compares in that I have never played through one.

Ironically, the tube in my SM just went away. You could hear this odd distortion in the tweeter.
I used and ol Telefunken which really didn't change things that much.
Don't know how it could; I love the sound of this amp so much that I really don't think there is better tone for me (other than better chops).
Can't wait to see what Jeff has in mind. It will not be easy to offer this much flexibility, tone, and power like his previous designs.

+1 on the metal flake bass.
And it's not just a single color flake; it's crazy color flake
Those country guys OK with that much bling? :)

yeah that metal flake Alleva is a real fun conversation starter on gigs... Sometimes ill have guitar players and drummers ask me about it.. You know how it is on a gig, usually just bass players come up to talk about gear.. lol. Jimmy had it as a NAMM show bass.. I was hesitant to get it at first, but after gigging it now i am very happy..
Its real lightweight alder and has a vocal tonality to it that i really like.

People are going to think im a shill for Genz gear.. But Im not on this. I just use the gear and it has never failed me.. Im rough on my gear too...
Bergantino is GREAT stuff ,,GREAT.. But I had a pair of HT112 ER cabs for a while I sold them when i got my genz 112 Neox cabs.. A couple friends and I did a side by side with one Ht112 and my 112 Neox and we liked the 112 neox more. I did customize them slightly by filling the cab with some recycles denim cotton insulation... But that was it..

And yes, the SM 9.2 is still going strong... I had to clean one of teh POTS this spring. but after years of heat, humidity, indoors outdoors, etc.. thats pretty good i think.

The streamliner is a very different animal.... When i would fly i would bring it because it fits in my duitcase so easily.. It goes on any of my Euro dates because you never know what you are going to get in backline. Even if you give specifics and send and 3rd choices. Im not a rock star that can throw a fit LOL.. Im contracted so i just have t oput my head down and suck it up if its bad. So the last few times i went over i bring the streamliner so i can cut out one variable. SVT 810s are easy to get. but certain heads are not all the time..

Native, with all tone knobs up at 12 oclock the streamliner is WIDER deeper and more aire on top than the SM 9.2 with everything at 12 noon.. . It will get REAL full in the bottom. Some people think too much .. But i like a BIg non EQed low end like i can get with a high quality preamp like a studio neve or something..
The streamliner has more of an All tube tube effect... It also can sort of have that give and bounce you will get with an all tube bass amp. But cleaner.. It will get dirty too if you wind up the front end Gain or insert the Gain Up button.. But it is preamp tube dirt not all tube amp tube type dirt.. ... It sort of has that 3D sound.. Its very impressive for a Class d amp.
To me it is very different form the SM9.2.. I use it all the time when i am home and on a blues type gig.. It does that real good.. Lets say it changes the air pressure in the room and can make your beer go flat.....
But if you want to control your mids more, it is not the amp you want .

I've been looking to add some grit to my tone. Currently have a Shuttle 3.0 combo. I've had a Shuttle Max. I currently use a JDI at church. Maybe I'll see what Jeff has to offer, or if he doesn't come out with a 2 channel head, maybe I'll try to find a used Max head and use that as my DI at church.

I think you are going to be happy on and about his release date. I hear he has been working very hard to get these cabs out ASAP. In fact, I can't recall a single bass equipment manufacturer release that has gone from us not knowing anything to anticipated release so quickly.

I'm a little late to the party but I'm excited to see this news. Jeff Genzler is the most respected person in this industry IMO. He stands behind what he does, he is not afraid to be creative, and he is not afraid to break the rules. I'm totally excited to see hopefully some cabs coming down the pike. I really need to get a nice 1x12 or maybe two to go back with my Shuttle 9.0. I had to sell off some stuff as my wife was diagnosed with the big angry c word we don't mention and it has taken a toll.

As far as previous products my Shuttle 9.0 may very well be buried with my I love that thing so. I would love to have an amp that did what the combination of my Shuttle 9.0 did with the booteek 1x12 cabs I had that functioned as a combo with that kind of power into 8 ohms.
