Genzler Amplification ! New Genz Benz ?

I'm not using the DI.

I use the preamp to even out the output from my Upton pickup, which is tres-bass heavy.
I also use the notch filter from time to time if I have any feedback issues.
I use the boost button if I ever have to solo
And finally I use it as my tuner.
A very useful piece of "kit".

That's what I figured. I use a Radial Bassbone for the same purposes (except tuner) - I'd like to try the Baggs.

I like your taste in gear! Mike Lull / Spector / Lakland / Upton / Bergantino / Genzler / Korg / Hammond / QSC Of those, Mike Lull, Upton, Genz Benz (hopefully soon Genzler) and QSC, I use all the time, and I had a Lakland that was great (but I sold it to a fellow TB'er who was craving it ...).

Hey guys and gals,
If been looking for a back up for my GK MB800 which I run through a cx410 and cx210. My buddy at my local shop wants me to try out the Magellan 350, so I'm going in over the weekend to try it out. I've done some research and it seems to be what I'm looking for at a great price. Clean and clear=perfect
That's what I love about the GK also
Any advice about what I should expect trying out the Genzler? Will it pair well with my 10s?
Thanks in advance

I would expect less harsh highs than the GK (which is one of the trademark GK sound). And you should be pleased with the tone thru your 6X10 stack at 2.x ohms (at least I think the 350 does that, the 800 I own does).

Try the MG 800 also before you purchase.

Whatever happened to Genzbenz? I heard it was sold out to the devil. Love the shuttle12. Now genzler? The devil will offer a fortune to mr genz, and genz will be living high. I love the amps...so much for enterprising.
Not sure what has happened to the Genz Benz name and the owners but Mr Genzler has been busy the last few years making a whole bunch of excellent new products. I loved my Shuttlemax 12.2 but the new Magellan 800 is the best amp I've ever owned.

I think I have this right: Genz Benz was sold to KMC which was then bought by Fender. Fender did what it does and closed Genz Benz as it did to SWR, Sunn, and a host of other companies it accuired. Jeff Genzler, after a while (post a vacation and maybe a non-compete period ???), started Genzler Amplification to much fanfare and, hopefully, success. The goodness continues.

I've posted my upright rig recently, but couldn't help but share again. Last night at Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Canyon, CA. Just blows me away in an outdoor setting how much this makes my Upton sound like a million bucks. Just warm, dripping with goodness tone all night. Now if It could help me with my intonation....

Just picked up my new Genzsler Magellan 800 bass rig, includes the BA12 - 3 Straight & BA12 - 3 Slant cabinets.
800 watts @ 4ohms (2) cabinets, speakon connections to both cabs from head.

After being an Ampeg SVT CL CLASSIC & 410HLF cabinet valve player convert for 8 years, the Genzler has now converted me, total 43kgs in weight combined head & 2 cabinets.

Ampeg was about 80kgs total weight not including the roadcase..

Great presence and balance with the Genzsler megallan 800, punchy and dynamic from this smaller package, quality gear heads made in 20 year old thailand factory, then shipped back to USA for the quality control. Cabinets are USA made and assembled.

Can sound very much like an Ampeg svt valve, or like modern day recordings. I use a Fender Diamond edition pbass and a Rickenbacker 4003 Walnut both sound great through this amp as passive basses.

Will also be using my 46 year old Acoustic 450 head through the cabs as well.

These bass amps are Class D and very much boutique, my setup was over $3k in Australia well worth the cash outlay, 3 year Australian warranty. They are availble through Bass Gear Direct in Sydney.

Great product Geoff Genler formally - Genz Benz Amps..
